I have tried to post this so many times it isn't even funny.
( A late post )
Aaaand....this week's post:
So...I tried to post the above stuff earlier, but...it didn't work. For some reason. I think my phone hates me sometimes. I wrote on my lunch break.
So I am putting two posts in one, which I suppose is kind of cheating, but this is life, and also modern technology, Cody's younger brother got a job down in Salt Lake City, so Friday night was his last gig with his band. Cody, his mom, and I went down to Pokey to the bar where the band was playing for one last good time and also to dance. Cody's mom even danced, even though she insisted she doesn't know how to dance anymore. Cody danced with me, which was super sweet, and also good times. I danced a few times by myself, which I figured was good practice for the performance the next day.
And the next day...well, woke up kinda late, and then the menfolk took my car to get new tires for the winter, which ended up being an awesome choice, and now my car rides much better. I ran errands, but because I was late I had no choice but the rush home, shower, throw on my costume, and then run errands in my costume. Awkward, and also kind of chilly. Belly dancing costumes were not made for snowy weather in Idaho Falls. But I got the last of my Christmas presents made, so that's what counts. All that's left now is to buy Cody's and wrap it sometime when he's not around, and then I'm good to go for Christmas. I have some last wrapping and assembling to get done, and maybe also some writing, but my festive little stash of gifts is growing, and I'm super excited about it.
Here's to getting good stuff done this week. Also, my best friend from high school is getting married on Friday. I've never even met the guy, which kind of weirds me out, but I'm excited for her, because she seems so happy, so I'm going to drive down to SLC to witness the sealing ceremony. While I'm there I'll probably say hi to some friends and family between the sealing and the reception, but it will probably be a one-day trip. I also found out one of my friends from law school is having twin girls, which totally threw me for a loop because I didn't think she was the having kids kind. Shows me what I know.
Let's go, Team Christmas!
