Day 836: How Do You Feel?
Nov. 20th, 2009 10:27 pmI feel a little...more back in the swing of things. Not totally. Thursday was a whole lot of me trying to get reading done for classes. I inadvertently made friends with yet another 2L named Katie. We talked martial arts and anime, ex-boyfriends and all the good stuff girls talk about, and it was good times. I did get some reading done. Also, as I'd promised myself, I purchased the first season of Merlin from iTunes, so I played it in the background while I read.
Went to marriage and divorce. Still have no clue what's going on in there and am increasingly terrified for the final in that class. I skipped out afterwards. Most people went to the moot court final, but I went home and took a nap, then went grocery shopping. Let's see if I can make it for more than a month on sixty bucks worth of food, eh?
Went to school today and spent the first few hours doing a whole lot of...catching up on writing. Which was not homework at all. I did get a fair deal of reading done (with Merlin in the background, of course), and then I went to the Scalia dealie. I remember vaguely liking some of his opinions and dissents in first year Con Law. In person he is blunt and hilarious and seems like a very principled man. I find I dig a lot of his ideas. I can see why so many of my comrades hate him - he's conservative. Nearly fell out of my seat laughing when he said he cannot find a liberal clerk who is ruthlessly logical and reasonable, and all of the liberal clerks he's had have been a bit fuzzy-minded. I know some people hate my law school, but in the time I've been there we've been graced with the presence of three supreme court justices. Seriously. For the win.
Afterwards Angela and I watched some second season Merlin together, and then I took off for practice. So few people, especially given that there is belt testing tomorrow (which I am terrified for). I stuck around for the adult class, and then Sensei Tomie and I went on a frosty run to Wendy's. We'll see how it goes.
I got a really good run writing for Confiteor today, which reminds me why I love writing novels all over again, and makes me cringe when I think of the unfinished ones lying around.
Here's to tomorrow.
