Day 835: Don't Mean A Thing

It sort of feels like I'm not back into the swing of, well, anything. I spent most of today prepping a closing argument for Prosecution, since I hadn't done it yesterday. I spent yesterday night catching up on Castle, White Collar, and House while I did laundry. Today most of my work was interrupted by people asking about the trial competition and by me repeating all the best parts of the stories - competing in jeans, weird objections, and Melilli almost breaking his neck climbing on the luggage carousel to see if we could sleep there for the night.
I didn't do a complete run-through of my closing once, and I was paranoid all through juvie law.
My closing was beautiful anyway. I told myself, hey, this is about as much prep as real prosecutors get anyway, right? I learned so much from that competition. Even though I was nervous, I held my ground, I spoke slowly, I managed without my notes, and I made my point. It wasn't nearly as polished as I'd have liked, but I made it through anyway, and then came home.
Got to watch Criminal Minds, which was intense. There was awesome character development, beautiful cinematography, and also cool cases. I also spent a ridiculous amount of time having way too much fun downloading free apps for my shiny phone. Because I'm that lame. In typical Nagi fashion, most of them go toward random trivia, church, and my storywriting abilities.
I don't feel like I'm back in the swing of things, like I'm on the up-and-up for classes or my big paper or even back in my writing groove.
I saw Melilli after his witness exam class today. He smiled at me, kinda like we were old friends. I don't know what I'll do without practice first thing tomorrow morning, except work on my paper of evil and try to catch up on all the reading I've missed.
Man. I'm all signed up for classes for my last semester of law school.
I'm pretty scared.
