Day 757: Day Final of 2L Spring Finals
May. 7th, 2009 07:33 pmThat's right, boys and girls, as of noon today, Nagi is no longer a 2L! She's back in that happy placed called L, or limbo, during the summer, and then when fall classes get under way she will be a 3L. In the meantime...school's out for the summer! She's free!
So...I spent most of yesterday goofing off and watching Sarah Connor Chronicles, which I seriously, seriously love. Although I all kinds of wanted to see Cameron go to prom with John's friend. I got the second half of my exam for PR done, which made me feel good, and then I spent the evening talking to people. I talked to mom, which is always awesome. Ryan called and checked on me to make sure I was alive. (Today I found a super-huge lollipop to take to him at the hospital. I'm still contemplating a candy-striper outfit for the heck of it, especially since he'll be all drugged up.) I talked to Chanita, which was good. I am seriously, seriously loving my friends and how awesome they've been about things. I talked to Daniel, and I got a letter from him yesterday, which always makes me smile. One of Mom's finals gifts was some really pretty stationery, so when I get back into the swing of writing things, I can send pretty things. I am pretty jazzed.
Today I slept in, crawled out of bed, showered, dressed, and ate, and then headed to school. I printed off my essays, gave them the red pen, and then sat around talking to Matt, Jason (whom I have not spoken properly to in a while), and Dan G. Then I turned in my essay. And then I took myself to see Wolverine. Freakin' A, Daniel Henney as Agent Zero. Gah. That man's so attractive. Taylor Kitsch did a good job as Gambit, and once the movie got underway I believed Liev Schreiber as Victor Creed. I was pretty impressed at how much Logan's assumed father looked like him and Creed's father looked like him.
I'm slowly considering the space disaster that is my apartment. I'm going to overhaul it next week, toss some furniture (Jason wants to be the taker), throw in some new bookcases, and then use the shelf space, because I keep accumulating books, mostly textbooks.
It feels...surreal. Unreal. Finishing with a take-home exam is anticlimactic. But I am done with my second year of law school. Done. Just sayin'.
I was all kinds of moody this year. Flying high, insane with over-studied delusion, exhausted with too much work, and fighting against apathy of the highest degree. But I made it. I made it. (It's worth repeating.) There will be celebration this weekend, baseball games and Broadway shows, maybe more movies (The Great Buck Howard is at the Dundee). But I am free.
For a week.
Then work starts.
