Not in Seattle, and certainly not Beauty. More like hellish doom, with a bit of randomness thrown in. I worked on Thursday night, posted with Josh, which was fairly sedate, all in all. Earlier in the day Nick, Ericka, and I watched the Fog of War. I don't know what to think. I never really heard much about McNamara to begin with, so it's not as if this movie really altered my preconceived notions about him.

Right after I got off work on Friday morning I had to take the van up to Beaver for training for work. It was a bit awkward at first, because I didn't know any of the girls. They're all day staff, and I'm night staff, and it's all just a bit weird. But we talked a bit on the way up, although I really should've tried to sleep. Our trainer, Hyrum, was about an hour late, in my estimation. We sat around and listened to lectures more than anything, and it was sort of like repeating my comm classes and stuff I even learned in high school for debate, but oh well. What little we learned, sidestepping and deflecting blows, was sort of like coming home, from years of sparring with Bryan, Russell, and Justin. I ended up paired with Gretta, who seems like the epitome of the giant blond German woman. I think she's a bit scared of me now, to be honest. But oh well. We had to stop and not work whenever student girls came through, and then there was a government guy come by to interview the girls, so we had to keep it down. Hyrum finally called lunch, and a bunch of us went to Arby's and talked. It was awesome, getting to know them. I think this is the first time I've really liked and talked to and enjoyed time with coworkers. One of the girls, Katie, I think, lived in the dorms last year as well, and she was also a debater in high school, policy, and another girl was a debater as well, so we traded war stories. Debate war stories - bringing back the good old days. We found some common ground when it came to nerd boys, and just liked talked in general. That sort of thing. And then partway through lunch someone called and said training was cancelled because Hyrum was sick. So we took the van home and I drove back to the apartment. Del had pulled an emergency night shift up at the Beaver facility, and then Ericka had worked as well, so I headed over to campus to check my mail and kill some time so as not to wake them up.

And I ran into Rae. I got to meet her three younger girls, and we just talked a lot. It was awesome. Of course, by the time I saw Rae I had been awake for twenty-four hours straight, and showed no signs of slowing down. Turns out that one of her daughters is obsessed with Meg and Dia. Meg was Jackie's roommate my very first semester of school. She's a really hot half-Korean chick, and she totally rocks on the guitar. Sometimes I'd swing by to see Jackie and find Meg there instead, and Meg would ask me to listen to a song and tell her what I think. I wouldn't drop out of school to become writer the way she did to become a musician, but it seems she's doing well for herself, and so I'm glad.

On Thursday night before work I kidnapped back my PS2 and played me some Kingdom Hearts. I made it all the way through the Hades Cup before I went to work. After I got back to the apartment the other girls started to wake up, so we watched TV, played some Jeopardy, and then Del went to a party/get-together with a coworker from the grooming shop, and I took BenTen to work and picked up my paycheck. "Thank God it's Friday night, and I just got paid..." Like that. Only I went home and tried to sleep, to no avail. And then Ericka called and said that there would be no training this morning, so I turned off my alarm, and tried to sleep some more. I ended up getting up and finishing some of the dishes Ericka had started, and eventually lay down and forced myself to sleep. It wasn't easy. But I got me a solid eight hours of sleep before getting up today, although it's not adequate sleep, so I will probably nap again before work. Ack.

I went absolutely insane last night, and it was because my body was so thrown out of whack. No wonder people go mad after five days of not sleeping.
