So...the second week of school went infinitely better than the first. Latin will get easier now that the professor has graciously decided to slow down. We were going so fast, and there was no way I was going to be able to keep up. So much of this language is memorization. I can memorize verb conjugation paradigms, and lots of them, from French, but declension paradigms on top of verb paradigms are starting to overload my mind.

I attempted to go see Fitz's paper presentation yesterday. Seirra and I walked together. It took a bit of hunting to find the actual place where the symposium was going down, and then...well...I didn't even get to see Fitz talk. The first speaker was only vaguely a disaster. He just liked listening to himself speak instead of getting to his point. The second speaker said he had come prepared for a half hour presentation and didn't know he only had fifteen minutes but would try to be brief. He ended up going for half an hour anyway. He had a thick accent, and Seirra and I couldn't decide if he was Indian or German. As opposed to Josh's assertion that the man was Irish and had red hair. Red hair does not an Irishman make. Just ask the Celts. I ended up having to book it to class rapidly. Aton's classes usually go well, and yesterday was no exception. Fitz's class went well, although he was a little late. Austin hit on me a bit (though it took me a long time to realize it) as did this RM whom, I swear, was almost as short as me, if not shorter.

I attempted to nap after classes, but mom called, so we talked instead. I would have told her more, but Nick was there as well, and there's something inherently rude about talking about someone as if he isn't there. I did some homework after dinner, and then the gang assembled for some Sense and Sensibility. The boys bailed, and Del took BenTen to work, so me and Seirra and Erin watched the rest of the movie. I know Erin is an art major, and usually I see her ceramic work, but I've never seen her draw before, and she brought some of her drawing homework into my room last night, and she's better than I'll ever be. Rowsdower and Marty stopped by as well, for a bit, and we chatted, and I now have a soft, pretty scarf from Hastings. I will have to make up a thank-you card and have one of the boys deliver it as I'm still unclear as to where Hastings and Ghandi live. Not to mention that they're moving today anway.

Mandy came over near the end of the movie, and she was very sad. She drank some caffeine, showed us her stuffed dog and then borrowed some drawing supplies from Erin to draw for catharsis. The rest of us ended up playing weird card games or watching deleted scenes from Serenity.

I made it through my second week. I still have a lot of homework to do, but if I work hard today I can get ahead and then visit my mom tomorrow without homework - and Brad - nagging in the back of my mind.
