After the presentation, I more or less holed up in my room. I talked to Mom some on the phone, as she was excited and had to know how it went. Nick eventually stopped by, and we just sort of cuddled in my room and talked. We actually do talk, you know. I had gotten so much homework done that I decided to give myself something of a break. After this post I shall work on the Aton paper of doom. My final for that class. Ack. But we went to dinner with Josh and Alex, and, as it turned out, Alex had me for the Secret Santa thing, so after supper we went to my room to open presents. He'd gotten himself a huge box of magic booster packs that he was going to split with me. It really was like Christmas, sitting around like a bunch of little kids, ripping off the packaging and squealing at all the pretty new cards. Alex said he didn't want it to be just the two of us off in the corner on the day of the party, so we opened our presents earlier. I gave him a huge hug, because that must have been more expensive than all get-out. Alex is such an awesome kid. Afterwards, Josh and Alex ran off to the game store in search of gifts for Marty, but we ended up playing some Tekken and then some Magic before the movie.

We were vaguely wise and got tickets before the midnight showing, but when we showed up at the Stadium Eight there was a line. I saw Austin in line. It was strange. We met up with Marty, his friends and his sister, who actually seems pretty cool. She was way taller than I expected. I could see the family resemblance, too. We sat all the way in the back of the theater, and waited. There was the trailer for the new Pirates movie, and Nick commented that Mom would probably be pleased. I wasn't sure about the ads for too many of the other movies, but oh well.

The movie itself was awesome. It opened with scenes of the Blitzkrieg that I didn't remember from the book, and I think a lot of people were surprised because they didn't realize it was set during WWII. The animal graphics were great. I recognized Aslan's voice, and it drove me insane until I saw the credits and realized it was Liam Neeson. Heh. Lucy was really adorable, and for the scene with the white stag at the end they did a really good job picking her older counterpart. The movie was beautiful, but the more I watched it I wondered how I, as a Christian child who regularly attended church and knew the Bible well by the time I read the series, didn't realize it was an allegory for the crucifixion. Yes, I was a dumb kid. But the movie was great.

Didn't get home till about two thirty and discovered a strange phenomenon in the bathroom - a toilet that won't stop flushing.

Today we girls stocked up on food for gaming and the party, me, Del and Erin. It spoke to the days when we planned Halloween/birthday parties. Always the girls in charge. Hells yeah. Because we do it better.

Now, really, I will write that paper.

Put the gun down, Brad.
