Day 199: Still, but only just barely...
Sep. 24th, 2005 11:50 pmA good day of gaming. Or well, a good evening. I'll confess, I didn't get any homework done. Just had my weird fun reading angsty fiction and using up too many tissues (which is why I summarily tossed Josh out of my room earlier). The gang started to convene in my room, so we talked and hassled each other this afternoon. I like it when Rowsdower scratches my head. I think I like it in general when people scratch my head nicely. I scared Marty a little bit by hanging onto him like a limpet and giving him girl-torture. I really probably should be a lot nicer to the boy.
I also should probably be writing my American Lit paper at the moment, but after this I'll probably troop off to bed. Schuldig is displeased that the narrator voice in my head now sounds like Rowsdower. You know what the narrator voice is - the voice that speaks as you write/type/read things. Schuldig, Brad and Farfarello are entities unto themselves in my head.
Dinner was better than I thought it would be. Seirra and I talked to Tomo and Yuuichi for a bit before they vanished. In retrospect I don't think Josh went on that date with the girl even though we insisted, but he didn't game with us either, so there. The Big Bad B crashed our party and attempted to insinuate himself into our circle, which wasn't going to happen with Rowsdower present - and probably won't happen ever. He asked when we were gaming next and I thought I was pretty quick on my feet with a reply of "I couldn't tell you." Then I threw in something lame about BenTen needing to work. Eventually he wandered out - after some more hot-air bragging - with a parting line of "Don't do anything I wouldn't do without me." As if. We were a little too glad to see him gone. He tried to brag to us about his way-too-old girlfriend. In retaliation we started teasing each other about crushes, and I talked about Nick for a bit and how I'm over him (no rivers in Egypt here, thank you very much) and I think for a moment Barry was sure I was crushing on him before I destroyed that hope. Heh heh.
We gamed up in the loft, and Nick actually popped in, looking rather insouciant with a yo-yo, but left quickly. Del did some quick thinking so everyone would have chairs, and then we gamed. Props to the Rowsmakitty for being able to handle such a large group. Wisely he had us split up and took us in turns. Even though I had my katana this time around I spent way too much time setting things on fire (I did roll better) and losing blood points, resulting in sad frenzy upon a fallen comrade (BenTen's nameless Brujah). We had loads of fun. It was the first time I've ever had Rodney as a party member rather than as the GM. Cordell is a cool character. We also got to kill Barry's character, which we did with much blade-slashing and fire. After the game we set his character sheet on fire in a fit of childishness and pyromaniacal amusement. (Forgive me: it's late and my thoughts are disjointed.) Nick did reappear briefly, then vanished again when he saw how large the group was. Heh heh.
After the game the others departed, Seirra and I joined Del in taking BenTen to work. Then me, Del, Erin and Seirra went down to the Centrum (yes, again, I know) and read poetry to each other, some original stuff and some not. I think I read the most original stuff. I can actually read poetry aloud all right in front of people I know. Reading poetry aloud is a skill many people seem to have lost. But it was fun. We got cold, but we're "eccentrics" and we know how to have our own brand of fun. From what I could gather our football team got smoked in its own homecoming game. Wouldn't have to be a Cassandra to have predicted that.
Turns out Del was just playing with her journal when I stumbled across it's scary pinkness earlier, but I took a page from her book and revamped by journal. Perhaps I'll go back to the variable flow if too many people dislike the new look. It sort of clashes with my icons, but I like it the way it is. Maybe I'll find better colours to go with the icons? My favourite colour should be obvious by now. At any rate, this is the new look. Tell me what you think! I really ought to sleep.
To my girls and fellow could-be-called-sinners, the earliest showing of the Corpse Bride tomorrow is at 4:15. Tell me what you think after I emerge into consciousness tomorrow.
Criminal Minds is an awesome show, by the way.
