Day 166: Nine milimeters...
Jun. 6th, 2005 07:21 pmThey say that the human eyes don't dilate more than eight milimeters. Apparently cats can break the nine milimeter barrier, which is why they can see in the dark, but humans can only try. According to LJ Smith, vampires can break the nine milimeter barrier too, which is why their vision is so much better. I may not have broken the barrier today, but I think my body tried. I had my yearly eye appointment today - Mom is really up on the health thing, so I go to the dentist and see my optometrist at least once a year. My prescription is only .25 worse, but it should be slowing down, in which case I ought to look into lasic surgery - or so he says. And then he asked when the last time was that an optometrist dilated my eyes. Since I didn't remember we reckoned it was due time again. He was nice about it and didn't charge me extra - or rather, not Dad - but I'm quite sure no one has done the pupil dilation thing before. I would have remembered being vampire-style sensitive to light and temporarily far-sighted. That put my kingdom hearts campaign to rest to say the least.
My spare time seems to have devolved to gaming, writing and origami. I'm plodding away at those white cats, and last night I finally worked up the guts to try and make some of those Japanese paper girl dolls - the samurai will just have to wait. Del, BenTen, send me your address and I'll send you a doll! I can put one in a white kimono to look like Sadako/the mom from the Grudge if you like. *evil smirk*
I work tomorrow, Wednesday and Friday, and if they call me on Thursday I am SO saying no.
Life is going well. Del, it may not be your OTP, but go onto Schnoogle and check out Elf Fire's silver cycle thing. Two types of stories the HP fandom needs - clone/twin stories and gender/body switching. Other than more time travel plot kinks (kink as in twist, my hentai sister Del).
Oyasumi, minna!

Glad life is going well. Good luck with that origami--I'll give you my address whenever we get together. Or I'll send it sometime or something. Sorry about the optometrist. I can sympathize...but Harry wears glasses too!
