Today was my day off, so mom and I went to see it. Working five days in a row, though, that sucked. I have so much more respect for kids who work and go to school at the same time. The best thing about work is that there's never any homework. The most annoying thing, of course, is the way they insist that we cashiers try to sucker poor customers into applying for credit cards. I think of credit cards as financial slavery as so many people seem to be incapable of using them wisely. And they've switched from their lousy incentive program - candy and soda - to an even lousier negative reinforcement program. Tell me, Del, what is psychology's opinion on negative reinforcement? See, I'm not afraid of a little hard work, so their threats don't work on me. Their plan now is that we cashiers should be able to earn one credit card for every two hours we work. Such should be our daily goal. Should we not meet said goal three working days in a row we will be sentenced to latrine duty. Somehow I don't think that this is entirely legal, but as I severely dislike the financial slavery represented by the credit card I'm perfectly fine with cleaning the bathroom. It's mopping floors more than anything anyway.

Last night Gamila and I went to hang out with her potential (but potential is dropping rapidly) boyfriend Bob. We watched some Evangelion and ate junk food - root beer and pizza, like Utah college kids do. We might have played some D&D which I would have DM'ed for (it's a sad day when I'm the most experienced player in a group) but we were the only ones who showed up. I'm sure Del can relate with Gamila's concern that Bob was shorter than her. He was, unfortunately, somewhat academically unmotivated and not enough of a scholastic geek for either of us. He's an RM, which I don't really see as much of a bonus (think of Elijah) but he was nice. He was too gamer geek for her, but not enough gamer geek for me. And his serious lack of motivation would have driven me to homicide soon anyway. For a while there I missed having a boyfriend, but I'm used to this single thing and it's pretty nice.

Derrick called - he and Ryan were going to watch Hellsing and wanted to know if I wanted to go, but I didn't feel like it, so I just played some Kingdom Hearts, watched TV with the parents (while writing the murder mystery novel that is rapidly losing its mystery) and now am here. Shaz finally went home and took her little dog with her. Maybe I'll work on Monday, but either way, next week I am SO only working four days. Must find a way to dodge the evil Mary Kay woman of doom, too. She keeps telling me to bring friends. I ought to tell her that all my friends are anime boy freaks who play Dungeons and Dragons. I'm sure they'll be so interested in make-up.

Ha. Sorry about the credit card thing. I would hate that, too. Tell them that B.F. Skinner--the father of behaviorism--always believed that positive reinforcement was a hundred times better as a motivator than punishment.

How IS the book coming? Are you stuck?
Del

The book is coming, but the snog scenes are not...I will get back to those as soon as I am back on track with the killing...awesome icon, by the way. So Draco is older than Harry...he always is in fanfiction. Hmmm...

I agree and tell Emily good luck for me since she hasn't posted in a while, understandably because she has been working.
