Day 164: beat
Jun. 1st, 2005 08:55 pmYesterday I worked the eight to four thirty shift. They had me running back and forth from guest services and cashiering, which was a little tiring, and even though I got first break and lunch I never got a second break, so for the second half of the day I was totally beat. Come four thirty I was SO ready to get out of there. Brant told Corry to take my lane, and Corry was like "so is she going on break?" No, moron, I'm going home - I've been here since four! After work I played some more Kingdom Heart, and I'm going still further. Dad had planned to watch return of the king, but then Derrick called - his X Japan video came in. It was so awesome. And wow, Taiji was pretty hot too! We did some evil Jason dodging, and after the X Japan we watched Akira. A head trip in the style of Eva. Once again, Japan gets itself blown up because the government is experimenting with higher powers. Bad government!
Today work was a little better because I did more training at customer service. It's more interesting, even though working over there alone can be a little overwhelming. Being a cashier is long and dull, and they're obsessed with us earning credit cards. I actually made one today, but their incentive program on us cashiers earning credit cards is lame to say the least. It's easy for me to resist candy. I worked the eight to four shift, but come four o'clock I turned off my lane light and PEOPLE STILL KEPT COMING! There's a reason for those lane lights, people! Tomorrow I work ten to five, which means I can catch up on some sleep.
Dad and I went to see the new Star Wars movie because he hasn't had a chance to see it yet, and for a few moments there it was easy to fall asleep in the dark.
On my second day in at work I made some friends with the flow crew, two guys and a girl. One guy's name I don't know, and the others are DJ and Kira. I think today DJ was hitting on me, or at least trying, and I realized that he WAS trying and some weird gear flipped on inside me and I totally dodged every pass. Although I probably should have tried to pick up the one that would add food. I just totally don't want a boyfriend right now. Even if we did like each other it wouldn't work out because he works the three to eleven shift and I work days, so...he's a nice kid, though, and he likes anime. It was a shock for him when he realized Okita Souji wasn't a girl, though.
And it looks like Gamila will be getting a job working at the mini food court thing! That's really awesome. I've made some friends at work, mostly the ones I trained with. I also had a trainee of my own, and we're friends too, plus this one girl who's an English minor up at SUU that I had a class with. Dayna's pretty quiet and she always ends up at a lane far away. Sarah's awesome - she trained me. Bonita and Holly, the girls who work customer service with me, are nice. Ryan, Emily, Eric and Lundyn are pretty cool, too. Dave the AP guy is funny. Friends at work is nice.
I'm gonna go hang out with the parents now. Since I'm gone all day I miss them and like hanging out with them when I'm home.
