Day 1376: Twenty-two weeks and counting

Yes, I missed a week again.
The Good:
Staying warm and staying dry! Winter here has been wetter than last winter, which is good, because after the last dry winter we had a terribly dry summer and the state was on fire and ash rained down from the sky. It wasn't as bad as California, but it was...bad.
I am back dancing! I can remember choreography really well again! And also it's awesome to see my dancing sisters and my friends, and I was able to distribute belated Christmas gifts, which were well-received, so I am very pleased indeed.
I started my parenting class. It's more for professional development and less because I am on my way to being a parent (technically I am already caring for a child, but half the time people cannot tell), but I am learning new things and it's fascinating! I am loving it. Granted, it's also making me quite nervous to be a parent, but oh well.
Speaking of future parenthood: my husband can now officially feel the baby moving. First time was last night. Obviously he doesn't feel her as much as I do, but still.
I am finding words! I actually finished two stories this weekend, one a belated birthday present for my friend Rose and the other a Steampunk AU that sort of jumped the queue on some other ongoing projects I have, but oh well! It inspired to research some new things and that was a lot of fun.
We are almost ready to move into our new office. I will have my office packed by the end of the week. We officially move in next Wednesday, and I'm excited because we will finally have a window.
Cody and I have about set firm timelines for the big move to New York. I need confirmation from my physician about when I'm allowed to fly, but otherwise I think we are good. Having solid plans is good.
I started crocheting a dress for our little girl, and it's almost done! I just need to sew some buttons on and we're basically good to go.
The Bad:
Work. Urgh. Work. I am just so done with this job. I basically have a trial at least every other week till my time here is done. People officially make me crazy. I witnessed the most insincere apology ever from a man who raped an 11-year-old girl. I was trapped in a room for seven hours with people who kept trying to blame my client, the victim, for the torture her father and stepmother perpetrated on her.
Sleep. Has been bad. Inconsistent. I wake up at night a lot. I was up at 4AM today and couldn't get back to sleep. Getting back to dance and starting the parenting class has been fun, but it eats up two days of writing and also I am exhausted. Yay.
Check-in:
Spirituality: Better in some ways, worse in others, but generally improved, so I am pleased.
Fitness: Better since I continue to take Pokemon walks whenever I can.
Tidiness: Is a bit worse but I am better about just...picking things up. Bending down is a heck of a chore these days, though.
I have court all day tomorrow and an all-day trial Thursday, but Friday I have a massage scheduled, and then I have next Monday off, so I just...need to make it through. Here goes!

Date: 2019-01-16 07:18 pm (UTC)(Btw, I don't know how you feel about pink, but if you don't want to be inundated with Pink Everything, be sure to tell people who might be gifting you stuff. I'm a person who likes pink in small doses, so I told everyone around me NOT to get me pink as our baby shower was approaching. They still got me plenty of adorable girly dresses, outfits, PJs, blankets, etc, that were in blue, yellow, purple, green, etc, and my eyeballs were spared. Of course, MiniPlu went through an All Pink phase anyway, from roughly age 4-6, and I had to live with that. But at least I had a little control over that at the start! lol And if you like pink or don't mind pink, then ignore this. But I feel like there's SO much pink stuff for baby girls, sometimes it's nice to have some variety!)
[And separately, I'm so sorry work has continued to be so stressful. Ugh.]

Date: 2019-01-17 05:30 am (UTC)So far the gifts I've gotten haven't been overly pink, mostly because the people who know me well know I'm not super into pink, but I'm kind of excited to embrace it, actually. After all, if she takes after me, in a few years she'll despise pink, so I might as well enjoy it while can.
Also my husband is red-green colorblind, so half the time he won't notice if something is pink anyway. He'll think she's wearing gray or green.
