Day 105: Glaring Dream
Feb. 5th, 2005 02:48 pmYesterday was a boring day. Despite the fact that I had the opportunity to sleep in I was awake at eight anyway, so I took my time getting dressed and combing my hair. I turned in the evil Tvordi paper, and I had no history class so I spent the rest of the afternoon doing nothing. Sorta like I'm spending today. I watched some Wolf's Rain, slept, watched some more and then went to supper with BenTen.
I got some harsh instant paradox on that quesadilla. That'll teach me to take my pills everywhere. Maybe that's why I started having terrible reactions to pizza my first year here - the lactose intolerance.
Then Benten and I went to the DDR party thing. We both bailed at around nine, but it was fine. The kid - name of Maverick - was a good player. He doesn't have the same flair as the DDR midget, but he did have one of those awesome pads, and he got some killer scores. He was a nice guy, and he had the extreme mix for the PS2 that had a load of fun songs - including Drop the Bomb and Neverending Story - and we had fun. We also managed to get ahold of Niichan on the phone. He leaves on Wednesday! He's going! We missed his farwell speech. We're all gonna miss him, but he has my address so he can write me.
BenTen and I ended up at the basement with the guys. The smell of food kept making me nauseated (especially after I upchucked the quesadilla) but we buckled down and ended up watching the Japanese film 'Suicide Club'.
Oh, hell no. Never again. Don't do it, I tell you! It was the kind of movie Farf would have enjoyed just for the sheer gallons of prop blood used, and the especially creative use of knife (woman chopping off own hand). Schu would have liked it for the head-trip portions. The Japanese David Bowie! No! I had to watch a few hours of Venture Brothers and then the whole of the rundown before retreating to my room and filling my head with HP before I could get to sleep. For a while there I was seriously contemplating kipping out on BenTen's floor as retribution. I am now officially disturbed.
This morning I woke up with the intention of visiting some serious homicide upon the ungainly youths who thought it was a good idea to make a racket outside of A Hall with their skateboards. Instead I just got dressed and went to lunch, and then BenTen and I wandered around town. We hit the boutique on Main were the game store used to be, and then went to Godfather's Pizza so BenTen could have lunch (although she treated me to a large soda). We then wandered over to the park across the street to play on the swings - it's been so long since I've done that, and it's so much fun.
We took a tour of the back streets to check out all the cool old houses before heading to the park on 200 South. We rested in the shade for a bit, chatting about names and whatnot, and the power of a true name. Then we meandered home and BenTen created this whole new awesome mythical race off of the supposition that I, since I hate eating food, ought to try and evolve myself to be able to live off photosynthesis. My hair would have to be green and I'd have to drink a load of water, but if it were possible...and I could still eat chocolate for fun...
It warmed up after a freezing morning yesterday, so today was really pleasant and cool - far more like early spring than late winter - so we had a nice walk around town. Good exercise, too, though after DDR last night nothing hurts my legs too badly anymore.
I think I'll try and finish Wolf's Rain today.

In memory of the Suicide Club.
