I thought I posted for this past week, but I didn't. Weird. And then I remembered how busy Sunday was, how we taught and then hung out with Cody's parents and ended up gaming (which was hilarious), and I forgot to post.

Usually I post the stories I think are entertaining from my week, that I'd tell someone if they cared to listen. And these days I'm talking to people more, my stories are getting told, so I forget to write them here. But if I don't write them here then I won't remember them later.

Last week there was a reporter at the dance studio doing a story on our teacher and her new business. I agreed to answer a few questions for him because I'm not afraid to talk to strangers (which I hope my children don't inherit), and there were some awkward moments. Like when he asked my name and I spelled it for him and he said, "Huh. That's so...normal." I have been blessed with the good fortune of always having names that are spelled precisely as they are pronounced, and since I enunciated, I was surprised that he was surprised, and then I realized he assumed I'd have some exotic name because I'm not white. He asked weird questions, like if I thought our teacher was an awesome female role model (what am I, twelve?), but the story ran and she was happy, so we are all happy and rehearsing like mad for the 4th of July parade.

Saturday we drove south for house hunting and a wedding, and after looking at waaaay too many houses we found one, brick, detached garage, rose garden, room big enough for the piano, and then our estate agent took us out to lunch while we signed paperwork. We are both super excited, so we are glad the offer was accepted. We'll be moving mid-July.

I finished my one gen big bang and even got paired up with an artist, so I'm super excited. I finished one short story and started so many more others it's frankly pathetic, but there you go.

Teaching went well on Sunday, and on Tuesday my visiting teachers came over. One of them is the daughter of a woman I teach, so when she called my first thought was that her mother needed help, but in the end it was a nice visit.

Sunday we gamed with the boys, and I talked to Sean's older brother about possibly writing for our potential publishing house, and it was funny times. I don't know what it is about my players, because their answer to everything seems to be "Flirt your way in." Weirdoes. I can't decide if it beats my last group of players who thought fireballs were always the answer.

I'm chatting with my sister now more than ever, usually via text message, and somehow she got it into her head she wanted to join a fantasy RPG group, unaware that what they played was D&D, or that D&D is not, in fact, played with a deck of cards like Pokemon. Weirdest nerd moment ever. In fact, one day my sister called and we had the first ever civil grown up conversation I can remember. It was odd, but pleasant all the same.

My new chair at work is killing my back, which about coincides with the not sleeping I've been doing lately, and after work yesterday Cody gave me a pretty thorough backrub, complete with tiger balm and bio freeze. I made a point of sleeping very still and on my back, and I think it helped, but now it's raining and the weather is going crazy, so instead of going to karate like I planned I'm at home doing the laundry. Again.

One weekend we won't be going anywhere, so I won't be doing laundry on a Thursday and can go back to kenpo, and I am okay with that.

I love my husband. He bought me a present. A nine millimeter present. :) The kind that involves a certain zodiac sign. He spoils me.
