Day 954: Good Times

nagi_schwarzSo...Monday. Pretty good day. Volunteered at the office. Saw the Chiropractor, who said if I behaved till Christmas I would be clear for snowboarding awesomeness. Sadly, besides Angela and I dancing, only one other person performed for the talent show, which was depressing, but it was short so I got the game with the gang underway early.
Tuesday was a good day - I didn't go into the office. Instead, I went to the movies with Sarah from FHE, and Christina, from the ward. We saw Tangled, which was super awesome, and then we had junk food at the food court in the mall, and overall we hung out and it was good times. I also worked lots on Cody's Christmas afghan, and I think overall it's going pretty well.
Wednesday was a super fun day. I had lunch with my old clinic partner, Jen, at the Olive Garden in CB (ironically enough, right next to the Buffalo Wild Wings where Sensei Raymond the Younger works), and we talked and caught up, had good food. I found out the poor girl failed the bar because two weeks prior to the bar her doctor told her she had cancer (he was wrong). That'd mess up anyone. But it was super good times, talking to her. Afterward at my place Kile and Jason came over, and I got my new TV from Angela's, and we had a dinner party and watched some Stargate SG-1. Kile and Jason are good guys. Also, I opened my other Christmas presents, which included a painting my dad painted for me (the best kinds of gifts are handmade) that he also framed himself, and a book of Civil War trivia, because that's the sort of thing I like. After the boys left, Angela and I sat in mutual quiet, me crocheting, her working on a take-home test.
The next day I took her and Dan to the airport and went into the office and then spent the day crocheting and sewing and being an overall nerd. Also did some laundry, which was desperately needed. Also, I went to Lindsey's and a bunch of us teamed up to deliver Christmas cookies. I went with Cameron the new RM home from Colombia. He's a sweet kid and still has a cute Spanish accent, and we had shenanigans with trying to read addresses in the dark, but it turned out all right, and I think we had the best cookie delivery success rate.
Friday was super awesome. I woke up and got things done, like turning in Angela's last test for her, and called back on two job applications I sent in, and I went into the office. Said bye to James, who I will not see before I leave town, and then...then I went to Sam's for a super awesome sleepover. It was girl nerd greatness - we played video games and cards, stayed up all night talking about boys and watching girly movies (He's Just Not That Into You), and it was a great bonding experience. We're forming our own girl-pack, which means the boys should beware. I had caffeine for the first time in forever, though, so I was up till almost six in the morning.
After I dragged myself back into consciousness on Saturday I took Sarah home and went home myself, quasi-unpacked, and attempted to nap, though I failed a lot. I went to D20 Modern down at the lair, where Damean the slightly creepy hit on me very unsubtly (though Tomie was kind enough to point it out in case I'd missed it altogether) but the game was fun. It's weird, playing someone new, and I don't know this character as well as I'd like, but I'm loving the game all the same, because Tomie is awesome and also Dresden-verse for the win!
Today was a long day because I was so tired, but it was a good one. I went to church - I was tempted to skip and was glad I didn't - and got super awesome oreo chocolate truffles that Lindsey made, and then Brielyn and I hung out at the trail center together overseeing the gingerbread display. I did laundry and took a nap and accidentally made my parents fret about my heater being broken. I baked cookies and crocheted a whole lot, and now...now I shall talk to Cody.
It's always the best part of my day. I shall see him in one week. :D
