Day 846: It's All Over

...Sort of.
Friday was the last day of classes even though my classes ended on Thursday. I went to school anyway to pick up study supplies from my locker, sign Kara's goodbye card, and buy some school logo clothes for me and my parents. Angela and I stalked the library looking for people to sign the card, and then we delivered the card and flowers to Kara in the office. She was surprised and pleased, and we hung around talking, and I ended up in a strange conversation with a woman about England, as both of our fathers are from England but I've been and she hasn't. Angela and I picked up clothes together, and I grabbed a nutshell on M&D (the majority of which I read yesterday) and then I headed home. On the way home, I ran into Jordan in the parking lot, and it looks like we may have some sort of study not-date next week. That boy makes me smile because he's sweet.
I still cannot tell if he's flirting with me.
I spent the rest of the day studying and attempting to be useful. I also baked a pumpkin pie and then...and then things got a little weird. I was on my way to grab Angela when I got a call from the sister missionaries to pick up an investigator. Not a big deal, since the investigator girl lives really close to me. Then I went to get Angela - which was a little awkward, since there's construction off of 42nd and Dodge and the entrance off of 30th onto 80 west is still blocked off.
The drive out to Jake's house was...long. (Jake - not Jake and the married girls at law school, but Jake the RM who is one of my new home teachers.) But we made it in time after a couple of wrong turns, and we had a good time at the party.
There was good food, and then we played the candy cane game again. I sat next to PT Dave and he defeated me. It was weird and a little flirty, but I'm pretty sure Nurse Nicole likes Dave and I see them talking a lot, but who knows. PT Dave ended up winning, so I didn't feel so bad about losing. Angela and I ended up talking to Kile a lot, and also Alex the new convert who, oddly enough, used to be Xiao Qian's roommate. We played a weird game that involved dice and unwrapping gifts and trading winter accessories, which Kile won, and it was good times. And then we played a crazy relay race game that involved dressing as Santa, running around the kitchen, and guessing the names of Christmas Carols (I kinda scared people with how quickly I could guess some). The rule was that the person dressed as Santa could only make a lap of the kitchen once he or she had the slip of paper in two containing the name of the Christmas Carol puzzle we solved. There was one awkward moment when Dental Dave was about to take off running and I went to hand him the slip of paper with a cry of, "Take it!" and he grabbed my hand and attempted to take off running, which prompted me to cry, "not my hand! The paper!" and everyone laughed.
Cute, but kinda weird. Also, our "prom" pictures came in. They actually look pretty awesome. Apparently I've circled back around to that time in ninth grade when I look decent in pictures again.
After the games we went home and I came back to my place. I had planned on going to bed, but I ended up staying up late talking to Daniel and, oddly enough, Bryan B. from high school. We shot the breeze, reminisced, and threw around the idea of him either (a) turning one of my stories into a graphic novel or (b) him illustrating something I wrote. Bryan is a much better artist than I am a writer, but I think that would be awesome good times.
Daniel was having tough times with his recent break-up, so we talked, and then I went to bed.
Today I woke up earlier than my alarm but ended up lolling in bed later than I'd like. I did eventually get up, showered and dressed, and did everything I planned today, which involved finishing my Christmas cards (during Love Actually, which made me ache like I do after finishing reading a novel), filling my car with gas, cleaning my apartment pretty darn good (I will do a final psycho clean before I leave for Christmas), and reading my M&D book.
Only I read M&D after Angela and I ate and watched Merlin. She made an awesome turkey-and-stuffing casserole and was kind enough to leave me leftovers, and then we watched Merlin 2x11 which was full of creepy Mordred, angry Morgana, and Merlin looked adorable and pretty when he cried. Also Arthur being blustery and honorable while also being a prat. Some pretty awesome sword fights, plus the preview for the next episode which looks like serious plotty fun. I gave Angela some of my old outlines to borrow, and I walked her to her car.
Then I read for M&D and also made some homemade fudge. I now have blisters on my hands from making the fudge, so it had better be darn good. That's all I can say. I listened to scraps of movies while I stirred, and now Interstate 60 is playing in the background.
I will watch it all the way through after I graduate, I think. As I will also watch Legally Blonde.
Also, Stephen (yes, med student Stephen who is also my home teacher) called me and asked me on something akin to a date. Apparently we are going to see Handel's Messiah down at the Holland tomorrow after church. Seems it's a double date. I cannot tell if I was asked out of some sort of attraction or because I am default date girl. We'll find out.
I did call my mom and tell her.
Now I shall write, and then get to bed.
Also, I have jumped on the ficly boat. We will see how that turns out.
