Day 709: Listen to the Warm

I made it home safely. Brielyn was a doll and drove me to the airport at an ungodly hour of the morning. Check-in lines were long and security check lines were long, but my flights were on time and that was all that mattered to me. I crocheted like a nutcase on the first flight and did my best to sleep on the second flight. On both flights I was the third wheel next to a couple who curled around each other and slept all comfortable and cute. Unsurprisingly, the goth couple was a heck of a lot nicer to me than the preppy couple. The stewardesses greeted me like I was ten years old but seemed unsurprised that I didn't have some sort of chaperone. Even though I was totally wearing my new hoodie that says "Creighton Law." You know. Because I'm a law student. I made it to Vegas in good time and found mom. Once we rescued my suitcase we filled the car with gas, stopped at a Subway for food, and had a good talk for the drive home. Mom's having a bit of a nightmare babysitting two dogs who hate each other and are nothing like their spec sheets say, and I feel bad, because every now and again she goes a bit spare. Monday night was relaxing - we had supper, watched TV, went to the Visitor's Center to see a new movie. Today was also full of relaxing. I slept in like a lazy nut and then when I woke I went shopping - got some last-minute presents. Then we went to visit a woman in the ward at the hospital, but she was asleep. I've gone nuts with this crocheting business. In my insanity, I decided to make a blanket for Weber's soon-to-be-born baby girl, mostly to use up the pink yarn that I pretty much despise, and now the blanket squares are complete. I shall pay a visit to Aunt Marge - my crocheting guru - to get some advice as far as stitching the squares together. I have decided to also make a cute baby outfit for Jane's baby back in China.
So much for, you know, making myself that cami top. That's okay. I do have some random intentions to make myself a scarf using one of those nut-tacular knitting looms. I think that'll be fun, and I could get some cool yarn to make it, too.
But I've been relaxing. I talked to friends online to set up things like New Year's, as well as to just talk to other friends (mostly Daniel). Tonight we went to the Tabernacle to listen to pretty Christmas music by a string ensemble.
I've been very, very well-fed.
I'm glad to be home.
It's warm here.
