Day 1059: So this is winter
Jan. 6th, 2013 07:01 pmTo say the least, I've haven't been nearly as good about my new year's resolutions as I'd like, but at least I'm getting up earlier in the morning. I just need to do more useful things with my time, is all. Woohoo! Cody and I were finally caught by the bishopric, which means we now have a calling: team-teaching gospel essentials. Yay! I don't mind teaching, and I know Cody loves it, so it's going to be an adventure.
It's been evil cold here, so naturally our heater stopped working. When I called the landlady upon making this discovery late Saturday night, it was too late for a repairman to come out, and no one comes out on a Sunday, so we have to wait till Monday. Luckily, we have electric heaters we've been using, but our house hasn't gotten above sixty since Saturday. Also, it turns out running both heaters at once blows up the fuse, so Cody has to go out and throw the breaker to get power back. So...only one heater at a time. Kinda sucks. I've been drinking an awful lot of warm tea, though.
Cody's dad got a gift card to Olive Garden for fifty bucks, so we went out for dinner on Friday night, which was super nice.
( Life spoilers ahead.. )
Poor Cody has a cold, and he and the glass crew have to do a job out of town for a week, so that's going to suck for me. I need to do better at establishing good habits this year, so maybe I will succeed. Not having my personal bed furnace in the worst of winter is going to suck, though. The meteorologists keep saying it'll get up to 17 or 18 degrees, but most days it never gets past 8. Liars.
Here's to a warmer week.
