It occurred to me that once I got married, I should have stopped counting my entries in days and started counting them in weeks, since that's how I post these days - a week is covered in each entry. (Anyone who reads this regularly knows this. Anyone else probably already doesn't care.) This week has been...bad and good. It's been good because I've done fun stuff like curl up with Cody and read for hours, I started watching Life on Mars (white dude rapping "Ice Ice Baby" to angry black activists was awesome), and hanging out with the gang at Kieran's gig. Probably the best part of my week was seeing my girl Jenny. (If anyone remembers Jenny, we were friends in law school. She gave me a makeover when I was a 3L.)

I learned surprising things about Jenny this time around...like she has a degree in marine biology! Usually when we talk it's all literature, social issues, and no science, but she totally has a degree in marine biology. So once she passes the regular bar she can take the patent bar and won't be suffering the lame poverty the rest of her fellow law school graduates are struggling to defeat. We had a nice dinner at the Texas Roadhouse, and then she went on her way (to a new temp job till she gets her bar results back).

My Sunday school lesson went pretty darn well, so I'm glad for that. The kids are getting better at speaking up, and the new boy is integrating pretty well.

This week has also been kinda miserable, seeing as how I have a kidney infection and I can feel my kidneys. People aren't supposed to feel their kidneys. They're supposed to be silent and unnoticed. But I've had nausea and migraines (due to weather, not chocolate, because I'm disciplined) and been super sore, so I spent several days chugging water and cranberry pomegranate juice and working from home, feeling pretty darn miserable. Cody took really good care of me, taking me to the doctor so we could find out what was wrong and calling often to check on me, and also he cooked for me and helped me with the laundry.

We've been super lazy, mooching food off of Cody's parents and hanging out with them. We're going to see the new Bourne movie today. Saturday was super awesome - we went to see the very cool exhibit at the museum that was full of replicas of all the treasures found in Tutankhamun's tomb. I was surprised at how much random ancient Egypt trivia I still have kicking around in my skull from Year Five.

Also, I had a chance to attempt to replicate a super cool crochet bedspread pattern. It's an old pattern, and full of some very tricky stitches, but I figured it out :)

I am also almost finished with Baby Marina's birthday present, so I am pretty excited.
