This past week was actually pretty freakin' awesome. I have had super fun with Cody this week. Don't get me, this week has been super long, and some days at work made me want to drive right down to Texas and unload like a nutball. But I survived. On my super stressful day, Cody gave me a backrub and we cuddled and hung out, and it was super nice.

I did well at Kenpo on Tuesday, but was feeling kinda lame and ill on Wednesday, so I just curled up and didn't watch TV. I did get my SPN Gen Big Bang story all coded and ready to go, and I got a super nice welcome to the fandom.

On Friday I was super wife. I came home and did the laundry, vacuumed the floor, baked bread, baked cookies, sorted through about two weeks' worth of mail, and also hung out with Cody. The bread ended up being super tasty, and I gave some cookies to our new neighbor, Jay, who I like. He's into old war movies, martial arts, and other coolness. He seems like a pretty reasonable dude. He helps me with random stuff (i.e. opening jars) when Cody isn't around.

Saturday was a really good day. Cody and I went on a tour of random parts of back country Idaho for our friend Sean, who's teaching English in Japan and wanted some pictures of "americana" for his new students. So...we destroyed watermelons with shotgun slugs and Tannerite and a P22 pistol, and we also took pretty pictures of the canyon and some windmills. Also, we took goofy pictures with the giant potato in town, and random pictures of farm equipment and sites (cows, hay piles, grain silos) for the kids in case they've never seen, you know, live cows. I have no idea what goes on where Sean is in Japan.

Things have kinda been tense with Cody's family now that his aunts are dividing up what's left of Grandma's stuff and probating the will. I always figured probate law would be fun, but only while people are alive. Or you just have to hope all your clients outlive you. Or that their kids are very cooperative, peaceful, and helpful.

This weekend I also got to game with my gang back in Omaha, which was awesome. I loved seeing them all again and catching up with them. Also, Cody built me a cajon drum, so we can play fun acoustic music together. Some of the most fun we've had involves playing music together. There's a ward talent show coming up, and we're trying to figure out what we might do (if anything). I can't decide if I want to perform (dance?) or display something I've made (time to tat something on the fly). I also got to talk to my dad and Skype, and Cody and I are planning on going to visit the Middle Kingdom and the Fragrant Harbor. We just have to figure out exactly when.

Thanks to my overdose on all things One Tree Hill and a fortuitous Kate Voegele cover of "Hallelujah", hands down one of my favorite songs (although people rarely sing the verse I like most), I got a good reboot on the novel I stalled out on earlier this year. So if my bust my tail, I might actually get it written by the end of this year.

Who knows.
