Day 856: New Year's Eve
Dec. 31st, 2009 10:50 pmSo the last time I updated was...Monday? Not much happened, except that I ran errands (wrote letters on my shiny new Christmas Stationery) and got my hair cut. It's about six inches shorter than it was before, which means it is infinitely more manageable and I will likely save money on shampoo and conditioner and whatnot. (I attempted to update using my shine iPhone earlier. As much as I love my phone and it's full of awesome, it is not for novelizing.) I went to check out the new courthouse, and I hung out with my parents, which was good times. I was actually in bed at a decent time that night, but the next morning I slept in.
Tuesday was the big day. Cedar Day. I ran some errands and then drove up to Cedar City, which made me super smile.
Del was already in town when I arrived. She, BenTen and I ran around town. Had food at the All American Diner, which mostly consisted of me wowing BenTen with eating a super massive burger, and also having conversations that really weren't that bad but scandalized the family at the next table over. We snagged us a Seirra and went to Wal Mart, and then we went back to BenTen's and watched us some paranormal activity. It was pretty scary, but not as scary as I thought it would be, which probably had to do with the fact that we were coloring with coloring books. Hee hee.
Del made super awesome Mexicali soup in one of her many crockpots, and it was tasty good dinner. Then we watched The Hangover, which was retarded and faintly funny. Curry came over, and there was some sleeping and randomness. I fell asleep. Curry and Sei crashed because it was too late to drive.
The next day we hung out, did weirdness, talked and laughed. Del and I watched the pilot episodes of Glee and Merlin. Glee is awesome and I must watch more of it. Marty made it home, and we had a brief Del-happy reunion before she took off. It snowed all day yesterday, and the roads were pretty scary, but I was a good driver. The truck fishtailed for the first time ever, but I survived. We watched Sherlock Holmes as a group (which was super awesome). And we went to Curry's house. And played Flowers and Rock Band on his super awesome new PS3 setup. (His parents are gone and so the house is ours, and in outer limits Cedar City the neighbours cannot hear us.) We totally played some Guillotine and wandered around shops like Braun Books (I picked up a book of 100 Best-Loved Poems, which proved infinitely useful). We ordered pizza and it was awesome crazy fun.
Didn't get to bed until about 4 a.m. BenTen went to work at 10, which woke me up. I bummed around on the internet before a Merlin fanvid led me to the awesomeness that is Thriving Ivory. I also read my new poetry book for about half an hour, and between Thriving Ivory and the poetry book I managed to write a key scene in Confiteor, which made me happy. Then BenTen made it back from work, and Marty woke up, and there was more running around and weirdness. I ate almost half of the tiramisu by myself. BenTen and I both took naps while Marty tried to sort out his social calendar, as the boy is insanely popular. Rowsdower came to visit. Logan ended up having to work, poor kid, but he's free now.
The party was begun. We hung around in Curry's kitchen, designing characters for a BenTen one VtM oneshot we're going to play tomorrow. We ate leftover pizza and drank hot cocoa, told stupid jokes and giggled. We watched Seirra play Fat Princess (make the princess fat, Seirra!) and she, Curry, and I played some Flowers. Now we have plans to play us some Loaded Questions, Rock Band, Munchkin Fu, and whatever else crosses our minds.
New decade, here we come. We are the crew of the good ship Black Dog. We fight, and we write, and we never give up. We game, and we work, and we never say die (just like Goonies).
2010, it is on.
