Day 744: One Week
Apr. 7th, 2009 08:21 pmWow. It's been a week since I updated. That's pretty freakin' sad. Of me. Especially given that last week wasn't all the busy. It wasn't that busy, really. Just sort of...exhausting. Friday was a pretty good day. Got free food, and then went to hang out at Amber's. Met her new boyfriend and played some weird EFY games. There were lots of people and it was loud and it was like I actually had a social life. Now that Amber lives closer we hang out way more even though we're no longer in the same ward.
Saturday was conference. Went to Amber's for breakfast and the first session. Angela showed up. Amber and I gave her tips for picking classes for next year, and I worked on armor. We were going to walk down to Panera's for lunch, because Amber likes to walk between sessions, but then it started to rain, so we drove, which was good, because then it began to hail. We ate really good food and watched the second half of conference. After the second session I went to D&D, which was good times, and then to watch the boys play basketball. Unfortunately, the Cold Springs boys welched on the game, so it was our boys just playing against each other. I seriously admired their athleticism, especially Garcia. He's not one of the taller boys, but he's got spirit and some serious aerial.
Sunday was also conference. I worked on tatting then, and made some homemade muffins for neighbors and breakfast. After the first session, Dan and Lindsey came, and Amber made lunch, and we watched the second session together. Then I came home and wrote letters, talked to people on the phone, which was nice.
I haven't been sleeping well lately - probably due to the onset of finals - and so I was crazy tired all Monday. Angela and I went to Amber's house to watch, well, House, and were completely shocked when Kutner died. It was sudden and out of left field and we were all convinced it was a dream sequence, and afterwards we sat in shocked silence. And then we decided that hey, that's life, right? Suicide comes out of nowhere. And we left it at that. We went to Dan's place (it's also Adam's place, but he wasn't there) to watch the NCAA b-ball championship. Even though I'm not into b-ball, out of loyalty to friends I was rooting for Michigan state, and it sucked. I did find it ironic that UNC was playing, especially since I was almost a Tar-heel for undergrad. We had fun and talked and ate junk food. Ryan sat next to me so he could get to the food - I was the food-passer and drink-pourer and slightly claustrophobic for it - and boy, he's getting thin. I'm worried about him. He's lucky if he weighs more than me.
Today was a slow day. I napped too much and didn't study enough, and it feels like I'll never get done what I want to get done, but the break is coming up. I did practice my belly dancing, which was good, although the gym was 80 and it was hot. I was just finishing up as someone else was coming in, which was good, because it was awkward. And yet another neighbor caught me in the elevator with my sword. It's bizarre karma - whenever I'm standing there with my shiny golden scimitar, some neighbor I never knew existed pops into the elevator beside me. It's awkward.
Also, I am watching waaaaay too much Chicago Hope, but it entertains the living daylights out of me. I'm behind on The DollHouse and want to watch Castle on Del's rec, but that will have to wait. Wait. All of it must.
I read two chapters of T&E this afternoon, and my brain is shot.
More CH, I guess.

Also, I love cereal. A lot. It's the best food ever.
