Day 736: Trials and Fangirling
Mar. 18th, 2009 09:06 pmThey don't often come hand-in-hand, but sometimes they do, and usually they converge on a Wednesday. Today was a crazy long day - I was at school for ten hours. And really, I was at school. If I wasn't in class I was doing homework or running defense co-counsel in a trial or being a witness in a trial and at the end of it all I was drained.
The first thing I did when I got home was called my Mom. I thought she got home today but as it turns out she got home on Monday. She didn't call me because she was waiting for me to call, waiting to see if I would call. Something about that didn't quite sit right with me, but whatever. We got errands (taxes, car repairs, new car stickers so non-resident offenders in the parking lot get towed) run, and it sounds like she's feeling a lot better, so that's good.
The big highlight of my night was (come on, it's Wednesday, not so difficult to figure out) Criminal Minds! And goodness gracious was it intense. Those promo people are very tricky. All week I was worried about something happening to Morgan, and they played that off pretty darn well, showing Morgan with a gun in his face, cutting to commercial, and then showing someone being taken out of a house in a body bag on a stretcher. But this episode was all about Mom. I've never seen Hotch cry before - it almost made me cry! And I'll admit, Rossi isn't my favorite, but this week - this week he earned himself some hugs. He was amazing with Hotch, the way those two know each other. It made me feel warm and fuzzy (once the conversation about Hotch shooting himself was done).
I've been keeping up on my online writing, all of it but editing and Heavy Noir. I feel a little mindless, you know? At the end of the day I'm drained. I did manage to catch the final episode of Season 1 Merlin last night. It was awesome. I think tonight maybe I'm going to tat or knit or crochet. Or something.
Maybe watch some Dharma and Greg to make myself feel better. I love Greg.
Another fine week for the Mom of the Team.
