Anyway. It's been a couple of days since I updated. And I was proud for updating every day. Figures. Tuesday was a pretty good day. I got up early that morning and did homework until it was time to take Mom and Dad to the airport. When I got to school, I finished my homework, but the entire time I had a niggling feeling that I wasn't working hard enough. Matt made that feeling a reality when he asked if I'd read the Scalia-Garden article for legal writing. Which was 72 pages long. I managed to blow through 24 pages in the ten minutes before class (it had big print) before I gave up. And then our professor didn't even ask questions about it. Witness exam practice went about as well as expected given that we were down a team member as Jessica has Rosh Hashanah (which we all respect), so Amber's roommate Martha, a third year, was gracious enough to help us out as a fourth member, as she'd had the class last year. I also got my gym key on Tuesday, so after school I bolted up to the book store to pick up Neil's Graveyard Book (I'm only three chapters in but it rocks) and then I went to the gym in my building. Which resulted in me missing House. Grrrr. I caught Fringe, talked to Mum on the phone a bit, and then went to bed. If I work out at the gym, I'm tired by nine. How lame is that?

Wednesday was a long day. It usually is. I was at school by good time - six-ish and then I did homework. I felt bad because I totally spaced out during class on Tuesday (in crim pro) and was freaked out when it was done, even though the others assured me I missed nothing. I did my best to pay attention in evidence, but it was hard. As it turned out, I'd totally spaced the rest of the questions on the hearsay exceptions as there was a huge white space at the end of the T/F questions, so I didn't think to look for multiple choice questions. I have to do those now. I went to the Fellowship of Christian Law Students lunch, which featured awesome homemade food, and overindulged in Sandy's homemade fudge, which resulted in me sugar-crashing in crim law. And again in Witness Exam, although I guess Melilli didn't notice. I didn't do nearly as well as I could have, but it seems that were being too nice on each other during practice as witnesses, so we get to try again next week. With our brand new shiny murder case file. Whee! Murder in two classes.

I'm gonna be a great prosecutor, aren't I? I went to the gym again when I got home. I was pleasantly surprised to find, in the mail, after nothing but a slew of junk and bills (but a nice card from Mum) a package from my friend Aden in Texas (I know her from HN). She'd sent me a gift - awesome Texas-style memorabilia. Which shall come to great use, because readers always need bookmarks. And I like old-fashioned pencils. The kind that one must sharpen. I went to the residential committee meeting, then hung out in my apartment and watched Criminal Minds. I only half-watched CSI:NY, then worked on editing some stories for friends (from the last HN workshop over a month ago >.<) before giving in and going to bed.

This morning I was horrified to discover that I had slept past my alarm by a good forty minutes. Only I must have woken up and turned it off, because the snooze alarm hadn't sounded, and my nightstand lamp was on, even though I remember neither turning off the alarm clock nor turning off the light. I despise that sensation of not remembering. But clearly my body needed the sleep, and I got it. So now I'm at school and must work.
