It was impending. I knew that yesterday.

Today when I woke up, I knew it was doom.

I knew it was doom because I had a migraine. A serious, hide-from-the-lights can't-stand-up-for-dizziness migraine like I haven't had in a while. I showered and ate, hoping to alleviate some of the agony, and then I tried to study the requisite rules of Civ Pro I needed to learn, but I might as well have charged a brick wall head on for all the good it did me. I ended up hiding in the dark of my room for an hour and a half, listening to sappy music (I've taken a liking to Edwin's "Right Here") and also watching X Japan concert videos on my iPod. After a while the pain abated enough that I reckoned I could read, so I stood up and then almost fell right over, I went so light-headed. I curled up on the couch to read my note cards and listen to Professor Arthur Miller tell me about the Erie doctrine. I played a few rounds of this weird pyramid solitaire game I learned on the internet (only I used a real deck) before slouching off for school.

I arrived in time to commiserate with my fellow test-takers. Even fewer of us are handwriting this semester. This may have to do with the fact that the exams are now three hours without breaks.

I took my test. Just looking at the questions made my head hurt. I stopped caring about the exam at all by page ten and just answered questions as best as I could. I wrote the essay, which seemed duplicitously easy, and then went back and checked pretty much every question after ten, and I was still out of there half an hour early.

That sucked hard. As long as I got at least a C, I don't care, not anymore.

I cleaned out my locker (which consisted of tossing some old papers and lugging my massive box of Magic cards out to my car) and headed back to my condo. I checked the mail, and what ho, but I had a package. I reckoned it was that thing Schu said she sent (or maybe she didn't send anything at all and I am full of hallucinations, which may be the case given the severity of the migraine) so I headed up to the office to get the box.

It was from Justin, who had also mentioned sending a package.

I opened it, and my heart pretty much melted. He'd included a short note that he remembered I'd had a Christmas present to open after each final last semester, so he'd sent me presents for each exam this semester. I only opened one, since I've only just barely survived had one exam, and it was almond M&Ms (which is awesome, because chocolate and almonds are the best combination ever), and it basically made my day.

Yeah.

My day has been made.

So I'll go along to FHE, spend the rest of the night relaxing, and start the cycle of freak-out all over again.
