Wow. So...this weekend was pretty good. I got some good headway on the motion brief of all evil on Friday and am fairly confident I can finish it in the next couple of nights. I got to relax Friday night. Saturday was conference. I headed to the Institute to watch. I took my pretty green journal so as to take notes. I thought we'd be doing a service project between sessions like last time and so was only in jeans and a t-shirt and felt woefully under-dressed with the guys (who weren't Elders) showed up in suits. We ordered pizza in between sessions, which we shared with the sister missionaries, and I worked on Con Law a bit. Afterwards I went home, had a quick dinner, and then took off to hang out with Sister Dallon while the men were off at the priesthood session. We played "Taboo" and "Two Truths and a Lie" and had a very good time. We almost started talking about boys, but then the men came home, so we retreated to the kitchen to have ice cream and talk. I took myself home in good time and hit the internet to check for emails from Professor K (to aid in finishing the motion brief of all evil) and see what was up with my friends. I learned interesting things, like Charleton Heston is dead.

I also learned that X JAPAN got back together. *SQUEE!* I'm sure pretty much everyone I told rolled their eyes. I'm sure Seirra would have been sympathetic, though. I was overjoyed when I saw it, and heartbroken when I realized I'd missed the news. It really doesn't help that all of the news videos have no subtitles. I was a bit confused to see an extra Japanese guitarist in place of *hide and thought, a bit indignantly, that they'd replaced him, but it was not so - it was just Sugizo filling in for a friend. I watched all the concert vids on the MySpace page (which is fairly cool) and then on YouTube. There are still a couple of songs I saw hinted at on the MySpace page that I didn't find in my initial search on YouTube, so I'll try again. Now I'm thinking of all the ways to get myself to New York for their concert at Madison Square Garden in September. I may be minus a child for it (in the future).

Sunday was conference again, and I dressed up properly this time. I stood up during songs just to stretch out and was good about taking notes and singing along to the hymns that we were supposed to sing along to. I stayed at the Institute between sessions to write a reply to Del's letter (which I have not yet mailed *cringe*) and then headed home. I was in my pajamas and ready to curl up and hide from the world alone (and maybe finish that J Reuben Clark fireside DVD that I've had *forever*) when my cellphone rang. It was Dustin, inviting me to dinner at his parents' house. Also with Trevor and Justin, so it wouldn't be weird. Dustin's parents are very nice; Amber told me she liked them and I saw why. After I made it home I called my parents, and we tried Mom on her Skype thing. Now we're trying to figure out three-way calling on it so all three of us (Mom, Dad, and me) can talk together. I also got to talk to Justin, which was nice. I talked to his brother Mitchell, too, who finds it amusing to "moo" at me over the phone. I'm not sure why, although I'm pretty sure it's not an implication that I'm a cow. If it is, our swords will settle the matter when we meet again (though I'm hoping he's not suddenly six-and-a-half feet tall or something).

Usually I'm pathetically alone on the weekends and it gives me the opportunity to recharge. Not so this weekend, and when Dustin called me I was very tempted to say no, but the practical side of me warned me to never pass up homemade, free food. As a result, I was tired and wary, and so Dustin's parents probably think I'm very demure and quiet for someone who wants to be a litigator. This is because Trevor talks more than me. Don't believe it? It's true. Even Justin (Trevor's cousin) commented that, though I like to talk, I could never outstrip Trevor.

It was a good weekend, though. I enjoyed it very much.

Though I am a little nutty and seriously need some X Japan to save me.
