Day 529: Good Samhain
Oct. 31st, 2007 09:41 pmMonday was lots of fun. Family home evening was hardcore fun, with a halloween party. I dressed up as a generic Shinigami from Bleach, because I have a hakama and a bokken, and I was surprised when a couple of girls actually recognized me. Lots of people dressed up - we had witches, Raggedy Anne, a Viking, a white bunny, Sully from Monsters Inc, and others. We bobbed for apples, did a cake-walk, and a mummy wrap, and afterwards Brielyn and I sparred for a bit. Then I came home and did homework.
Tuesday was the dreaded Legal Research Quiz. Maybe I was foolishly overconfident, but really, why did everyone panic for that? The test online seemed straightforward, and this year's test had some of the same questions. Kitchel pretty much taught me everything that was on there, but the text-specific questions bit hardcore. And the "which option is most correct?" questions also bit hard. But overall it seemed straightforward, and I had enough time to check my answers before I turned it in. That evening I went out to dinner with my mentors. We met in old market and went to a pizza place. Not all the mentees showed up - I was the only girl mentee - but it was fun. My mentors are cool people. We shared tips and jokes about professors, Harry Potter nerdiness, and other things. I had a good time, and got some real food for free. Then I came home, caught the last half of House, and did lots of crazy homework.
Today I dressed up nicely, in my pretty Indian outfit, in defiance of the chicks who like to put on slut-tacular get-ups under the guise of the holiday. I was nearly late, because I was making little Halloween candy gift things for some classmates, but I made it in time. Classes were all good. Adam and I went to main campus to get lunch. He also bought some Civ Pro flashcards, and we went over them while we waited for the lunch places to open. I feel sorta bad that I spend more time with Adam and Jason than I do Xiao Qian, because she's awesome, but I know I'm still friends with her. Jason's cool, but Adam is probably the closest I can get to Logan or the other boys back home - Adam likes video games and nerdiness and whatnot. But we are soooo not dating. The legal research thing over lunch was interesting, if only because Prof. Dickhute was dressed as Lady Miranda someone who looked like the Chiquita banana lady. (She was Lady Miranda Rights, because we're in law school. It was pretty funny.)
When I came home I did Civ Pro first before I could fall asleep, then feel asleep. After I woke up I talked to mom and dad on the phone, read contracts. I had dinner, watched some Kenshin and Bleach, did some Kendo (the fitness center downstairs was locked, and I'm sort of annoyed, because it has space and high ceilings and it'd be a good place to do keiko) and then briefed Contracts and the Torts I didn't get too last night because the dinner ran late. I am contemplating doing Con Law, but have decided I've worked enough for one day. Life is pretty good. I like the achy muscle feeling I get after keiko.
Maybe I'll watch some more Bleach. Because, you know, nanowrimo is doomorz. When it's added on top of law school.
