Day 515: The Long Haul
Sep. 26th, 2007 09:43 pmToday was sort of a long day. Out of bed at six. To school by eight. Survived property. Got called on in Con Law. Apart from panicking in general (Watts was asking about a dissent rather than a majority opinion, which means that we have to brief ALL parts of a case, including concurring and dissenting portions) and wondering how to answer a question, listen to his comments, and type at the same time, I think I did fine. I couldn't tell if it was a good or a bad thing that he let me off the hook so soon. Watts is funny. You should see his impression of DEA agents trying to tell the difference between brands of weed. It's great. I did homework for some of the break, and then Adam and I wandered down to main campus for lunch. I nearly biffed it through Torts again and desperately wanted to sleep, but I stayed awake.
Back at the apartment I did some Contracts while Mom painted, and then we went to the Doctor's office. It's close - it's the university medical center, which means that students and doctors doing their residency get to poke at me alongside the official, all-done-with-school doctors. I got some Civ Pro reading done while I waited. Nearly fell asleep waiting in the exam room. Was prodded by a nice Indian doctor in his second year of residency. Also by another "medical student" of unknown status and a pharmacy student. Their conclusion was either anemia or a thyroid problem and so they poked me with a needle, took some blood, and sent me on my way. I dislike needles. Also my arm hurts. I will NEVER do heroin.
In case you were wondering. Mom bought some more paint for my room and then we had dinner. I made it through forty pages' worth of Civ Pro. Forty pages. Not much in a novel, right? In Civ Pro terms, that's worth at least the burden of one Bleak House. But I chugged through it all. Finished reading for contracts and briefed that. I got done ten minutes ago. Yeah.
So I'm tired. I haven't had a nap at all.
Meh.
But I'm alive, and that's what counts.
