Day 481: Road Trippin' Some More
Jul. 13th, 2007 04:41 pmI know. It's been a while. I've been on the road with my parents. Two days out - from Utah to Colorado, then Colorado to Nebraska.
The best part was Nebraska. I have a place of my own, and it's really awesome. The first day after the closing we ran around buying stuff to decorate my place. I think I'll be able to drive in Omaha without completely killing myself, although the preponderance of one-way streets may do me in. The fact remains that I am a straight drive from the mall - and therefore the best bookstores - and also very close to campus, so that's all I need. I love my little place - it's perfect for just little me, and comfortable. Now that we've decorated it, it looks nice. We threw out the ugly paintings and put up some pictures of my own, although there are more to come. The hideous chair is amazingly comfortable, however, so I'm keeping it.
The next day we set off to Creighton to get me all set up. My student loans went through, and the rest of my paperwork should be just fine. The staggering thing was that everyone was so nice. They were all friendly and went out of their way to helpful. Also, they're very nice drivers, which means that I won't kill myself trying to maneuver amongst aggressive (and also bad) drivers. My parents were pleased to hear that there's something of a Mormon colony at this college and in this town, so that's that.
Law school is bizarre, but I think I'll like it. The school has its own cafeteria and even lockers so I won't have to haul my books all over the place. There's also a bus route that goes near my place - as my place is near frat houses and sorority houses - so I won't always have to drive.
I'm gonna be okay there, guys. I'm gonna miss the hell out of you all, but I'll be all right.
