Day 433: Other side of the coin
Feb. 12th, 2007 08:59 pmToday I am twenty-one. I've had a great day. My sister got me an awesome gift - a cute shirt, really great shoes (her sense of fashion is far superior to mine), some lotion, and a cute basket to keep it all in. And a card. My mom gave me a card and some cash which will probably, woefully, go toward comics. So Logan got me hooked on Ultimate X-Men. There are worse addictions.
Like heroin.
Or anime, which is much more expensive. Although I'm sorta addicted to that, too.
My parents surprised me with a cake at work, which I shared with the coworkers. It was lots of fun and we got high on sugar. Work wasn't stressful, just the printer messing with me, but then it always does that.
After work I went out to dinner with my parents, which was great. Random strangers wished me happy birthday, and the staff at the restaurant sang me to me in Spanish (we went to a Mexican restaurant) and gave me a little flan with a candle in it. It was great.
Many other random surprises were there for me when I got home. Like an additional player for my game. And a pep-talk from Fitz on surviving it for getting grad school together.
So I can do this. I can.
Watch me.
It's been a good day, but sadly, no heroes.
I'm twenty-one, but it doesn't feel different. I talked to Nick, who called to wish me happy birthday, and to Seirra as well.
I hope to talk to others, too.

This is the vice of youth.
