Day 365: Quick on the draw
Oct. 11th, 2006 04:56 pmMonday was slow and a bit boring. Worked. Felt a bit ill, so skipped Latin. Watched some "Heroes." Sei was flooded out of her dorms and so came over to hang out and spend the night. Tuesday was also slow. Worked on a short story with hopes of it being successfully admitted to this year's lit magazine. This is one of the stories I like best, and have worked hardest on. It's also one of my few stories actually fit for consumption by non-Scoobies and non-fellow fangirls. Yay. Went to see the Merchant of Venice. I like watching plays much more than I like reading them. BenTen got all dressed up, and it was pretty awesome. It was funnier than I thought it was going to be, because in reading it most of us were confused as to why it was a comedy. I loved it. I thought the guy who played Solario was cute. That's about it, though. Antonio was a prat, but Bassanio sort of redeemed himself. I felt bad for Shylock. In reading the play I rather imagined him like Fagin from OT, but he was just a sad old man who lost his daughter, his money, his dignity, and his God all in one go. I was absolutely mortified when they made him wear the cross, and even more mortified when people in the audience actually laughed. At the end, as the actors walked off stage, I saw Antonio throw his arms around Shylock's shoulders, and it was all better. I do love Shakespeare. Those are some damned good actors.
Today has been long. Been at school since, eight, got home barely fifteen minutes ago. I'm going to get some more shite done, and then head off to the library for yet another study group.
Somebody shoot me.
Brad won't, because right how he's very proud of me.
Have I mentioned that my brain is starting to hurt? I am also racking up a fantastic sleep deficit.
