Day 321: the graveyard girls
Jul. 9th, 2006 06:04 pmLast night both Ericka and I were on grave. I was exiled to west house with Chris, and Ericka got to stay in the big house with Logan. They have to have at least one female staff in every house, and since it was three and three, well, I ended up in West House again. At least I didn't have to read those essays. I'm such a grammar nazi that no one would ever pass. Ach. When I talked to Tvordi on Friday she asked if I'd still be interested in being her grader, and I said yes. So I'm going to be working pretty damn hard this fall, but it seems like that's how it is, in the final semester before on graduates, one must attempt to kill onself with overachieving, especially if one wants to make it into an Ivy League school.
Friday night, Nick, Megan and I went to see the new Pirates movie. Obviously, not as cool as the first, but really not bad as far as sequels go. Cooler fight scenes, though with a weird hamster ball/wheel theme. The girl fought this time around, which was cool. And a scruffy Commodore Norrington is much better looking than the prissy one. And the evil guy was the snivelling little guy who played Collins in the new Pride and Prejudice, again with Kiera Knightley. That's funny. We ended up waiting in a horrendous line for a long time, talking, a bit awkwardly, although I don't think Nick entirely minded being left out of the conversation, because he's a quiet guy. Del and I admired the cute boys who work at the Shakespearean Festival, because a whole bunch of them were sitting in front of us. Too bad most of them are gay.
At work I mostly crocheted. Crocheting is harder than it looks, because it's all dependent on math and proper proportions, and if you screw up it will affect the math and divisions in later rows, so I ended up having to undo five or six rows to fix everything, and my wrists were sore from crocheting for so long, but I ended up further along than when I had started, though perhaps not as far along as I would have liked, but such is life. I got something done. BenTen took off for Vegas and home, and Del is working her swing, so I'm all alone in the apartment, doing laundry and just chilling. It's all good.
