Day 108: Sporadically social
Feb. 10th, 2005 01:56 pmSo I'm back to my not-so-frequent updating schedule. I now have three days of stuff to cover. But who cares? On Tuesday Mills was back so we're in groups for our French oral exam, and I'm lucky: I made it into a group with Del and Erin and this nice girl named Sarah who, if I'm not mistaken, is also something of an English major. We're having fun and being crazy and get sidetracked too much, but we'll have fun with our presentation - once we memorize our lines, that is. That afternoon I spent reading for history and Brit Lit. Then I went to dinner, and met BenTen at the gym so we could get some swimming done. There's a reason people stretch before swimming. But it felt really good to get back in the water again. We only swam for about half an hour, and when we headed for the doors Del was there. So we headed off to the arcade for some pool and air hockey and pump it up, but I'd left my hoard of tokens back at the dorms so when I went to get them I picked up the DDR kid so BenTen could try him at air hockey, and we played some Pump it Up. At least my legs were sore that night and not the next morning.
Wednesday's classes went well. I'm having fun in all my classes. Harris is going to suffer, of course. The crazy man asked for a freewrite, and he really is going to think I'm nutso. But that's okay. At least I'm a nutso with pretty handwriting. BenTen and I went over to the basement last night with the intent of RPG-ing, but the boys had the new champions of Norrath game so we just sort of fell asleep in the corner. I'd thought I'd never get to sleep after such an ill-timed nap, so BenTen and I swung by Smith's to get snacks and then hole up in my room watching Lewis Black live on Broadway. Laughed loads. It was awesome. Our next comedy night will involve Eddie Izzard, I think. But we got tired anyway, surprisingly enough, and went to bed.
Classes were fine today, and after classes BenTen and I ran off to WalMart, she to pick up workout gear (and for lunch - BenTen's been nice about buying food when we go out lately) and both of us to pick up graffiti gear. We're gonna make us some home-made slogan shirts. Yes, stupid and cheesy, but fun all the same. After I get back from the ceremony and after she works out we're gonna sit together and make evil shirts. Lots of good girl fun.
Getting out really is good for the soul.
