Day 100: Good-byes and hellos...
Jan. 27th, 2005 09:49 pmMama left today. By the time I woke up she was gone. It snowed today, which is probably why I had a headache yesterday even though the rain had come and gone several times.
We tried to play last night, but it didn't really happen. We just sat around and talked, like we used to do before. We got some minor game stuff done, but no real role-playing happened. I was feeling kinda lousy anyway.
I think we did all right on the French test. When I say we I mean me, Del and Erin (the girl who lives across the hall from BenTen). We got together and studied last night, and this morning we all managed to finish at about the same time. The study quickly degenerated, of course, into ordinary conversation, but we had fun.
After classes I posted the DDR kid a note and he swung by to talk about Vampire and other things. Get enough gamers in one room and we recount old gaming 'war stories' and rant and rave about weapons and martial arts and all the things we love that drive other people crazy and make them think we're crazy.
I finished Robinson Crusoe (and I really want to scream - I don't know why I liked that when I was a kid). I dug up some dish on the English Civil war, made progress on the gamer novel, and my runny nose has stopped. It seems to stop around now in the evening.
BenTen is out at the cinema with Rowsdower, so I'm holed up in my room treating myself to some anime. I had to rewatch the first five episodes of Wolf's Rain because when I tried to watch them on my last laptop the thing would overheat so the plot was sort of choppy. I dislike the opening theme even if I like Steve Conte's voice, but I do like the closing theme. Yoko Konno is the princess of anime music. My favorite wolf is Toboe. Kiba is too...standard. Hige reminds me of Duo, sorta, being the comic relief and all. Tsume...platinum blond in black vinyl, can't really argue with that. But I'm gonna go in for the uncharted territory now. Charlie gave me three series, and I watched Peacemaker Kurogane over Christmas break. Once I get through Wolf's Rain (and I'm gonna stay up extra late tonight because I can sleep in tomorrow) all I have left is Lain. It's gonna be one wild ride!
