Day Ninety-eight: Time goes all funny...
Jan. 24th, 2005 10:07 pmToday I was more or less comatose in French. I had a bloody sinus migraine. I was sorely tempted to skip classes in the morning and get some more rest, but after eating and being awake for a bit I felt better. French with Mills can put a damper on that *real* quick. Not that Mills is a bad guy per se, although I could swear that after I told him I had a migraine he called on me even more. Cet homme est tres mechant, ne c'est pas? Mills is like Moorty - great guy, lousy teacher. I'm still really confused about this whole grammar thing. Kill me now. But earlier in this semester it felt like everything was going so slowly, and now it seems to be picking up speed, and when I look back it seems like the start of first semester wasn't so long ago. Time is running itself at an inconsistent pace for me.
Mom called me today - we finally got that bloody credit card cancelled. I'm damn suspicious of a credit card account that was opened around the same year I was born, that's all I can say. But now the evil thing is closed. The last thing financial I have to do is my taxes tomorrow. But it's always good to hear mom. I'm gonna miss you when you're gone!
Benten and I went to the basement to visit Rodney and make sure he was alive and well - and that he had found his cat. We watched him play this bizarre game called Mad Maestro, and now I think I'm gonna be seeing a bouncing glowy ball and a diamond behind my eyes as I sleep tonight. Benten and I are both somewhat in ill health and both of us were tired - that's what comes from the bizarre ambience in the basement - and so we ended up scrunched up on the sofa together humming along to some Tchaikovsky and entranced by the screen. We occasionally remembered to cheer for Rodney who was both playing well and entertaining us. Sometimes I wonder who entertains whom when we all end up at that basement together. But it was awesome to watch the funny graphics and listen to classical music that I don't hear as much anymore.
There were some bizarre conversations about androgyny, my rabid fascination with pretty boys (come on, I lived in Asia and I watch anime, what do you expect?) and why dances should cease to exist as social functions.
I got my homework done, too.
It's been a good day.
