Day Ninety: Back to school...
Jan. 10th, 2005 02:32 pmIt was a long first day of school. Mom and I made it up to the dorms all right yesterday, and got me moved in and all that good stuff. Didn't manage to get to bed at a really decent time because the bints on my floor wouldn't shut up (although I vaguely remember someone telling them to) and then I woke myself up and got out of bed and went down to the computer lab to print out a new version of my schedule that showed me where my room was.
Went to breakfast with Benten, which could have gone worse. I spent last night sitting in her room (though, oddly enough, on my blue chair) watching a movie with her and Rowsdower and writing. We pestered each other and talked to each other and hung out. She gave me her old CD's because she got an MP3 player for Christmas.
French was abysmal, but then really, what did I expect? But Delacoeur was there, and she always brightens up my day because she's a cool girl. And she agreed to go to see Phantom with me and mom sometime in the next couple of weeks. Brit Lit II is looking slightly less hellish since Prof. Harris agreed to back down on the writing because of the massive reading load. I'm looking at about 30 pages night /150 pages a week to get through all of these novels. I sense much pain.
Criminal Justice with Panda's dad is always a joy. It's going to be an interesting class, to say the least. Met up with Panda, Aya and Benten for lunch, and we chatted before heading off to class. I saw Daisuke, and he's looking alive and well. Ran into the DDR kid. He's dyed his hair black...not sure what I think of it yet, but oh well. History was a sadly small class...seven have signed up, four showed up...but it looks like it'll be fun.
Did a lot of running around today, got that letter mailed to Stephen...he's in Japan doing a high school study abroad thing. I'm glad he's having fun...but it sure is hard to track him down.
I'm almost sad to say that I'm one of my only friends who had any fun with the family over Christmas break, but I love my family and so it was all good. I love just hanging out with my mom and running around town and watching TV and just talking. It's always fun to talk to my mom. Panda was surprised to learn how much I talk today. Schu just snorted and said that if that's the first time he's noticed, he may be in for a nasty surprise when he notices other things about me later. I'm not sure if I should be insulted.
I've decided that computers are out to curse me again, what with them not working in the middle of the night when I need them most, and me not going to have internet until Thursday, but in the end I think I shall survive.
