We were all meant to go help usher at the Nutcracker tonight. I fell asleep in the fifteen minutes before (quiche and salad) and so mom let me off the hook. She and dad are gone. I'm going to chill in front of the fire and mess around with my laptop and whatnot. Wait for my parents' new mattress to come so I don't have to listen to dad's snoring across the hall.

The concert last night didn't up being the Heritage choir. The newspaper must have got it wrong, because we checked this morning. We ended up ducking into the Tabernacle a few minutes late to check out the free concert there (they have them every night of the month up till Christmas). Dixie High Madrigals. Started out well as a group, and awful with the solos. Getting tired of "Santa Baby" and "Baby It's Cold Outside." But the guys were great - they had a very fun, very cool arrangement of the 12 Days of Christmas. The arrangements for Mistletoe, Sleigh Ride and Have a Holly Jolly Christmas were also excellent. The later solos were good. There was one boy with sort of longish hair who bobbed a bit while he sang, and he reminded me of Chris. Niichan. I miss my Niichan. Even if his hair isn't long anymore. This boy (I think the program said his name was Drew) did a solo version of O Holy Night, one of the most beautiful and most easy to ruin carols. He did a wonderful job. He played the guitar along with his singing. Just like Niichan. *sniffle* In her usual oblivious fashion, my sister accused me of perving after a high schooler. Yeah right. Afterwards we went out for ice cream. It was nice. Then I went to bed.

Work today was fun. I got to take a field trip to the courthouse and the prosecutor's office, as well as run down to the city record offices and try to look things up that seem to not exist. If they don't exist on paper and they don't exist in cyberspace...oh well. Richard came in today. I feel awful for him. His dad had a heart attack. He started to cry in the middle of the office.

I'm that good with crying people, so I sort of turned tail and got the boss to deal with it. (The boss's name is Brad, not to be confused with crazy gun-toting American in a white suit who thinks a Desert Eagle is a great motivator. It is.)

And, as is due, the end of semester grade report.

Straight A's. That's a relief. I was going to commit some serious homicide if the ponce tried to get me.

So this is life.

I'm really doing all right, but I'm just a bit mentally exhausted. Been running around for five days straight and it did funny things to me. And I feel like I'm going into narcotic withdrawals if I don't get to write. Not even reading helps, although I am seriously enjoying "Fragile Things" and think I may be able to finish one short story and write a new one altogether. Yay.

Glad Aya-chan is back on line.
Love, you, Sei.
Gonna call BenTen and find out if there's a new menace on the road. Are cars Mexican kryptonite as well?
Hope you're doing all right, Del. Love you. Drive home safe.

Also, some random person wants to friend me on myspace. Might say yes, though I don't really need to make friends online. My friends online are, for the most part, my friends in real life. Ericka, get that literacypirates off the ground!

No new menace. Parents forgot the right insurance. She's still trying.

Am doing fine! Thanks for the call the other night--it cheered me a lot, even though I couldn't answer. Will update with details of the crazy last few days.

Love you lots!
Meg
