Day 353: Wednesdays

School today was fine. I worked at eight, and there were no appointments. We were also kicked out of the actual Writing Center because there was a class in there, so we sat outside and talked, some about American Lit, some about combat and kendo and fun stuff like that, because even English majors have a vicious side to them. I also discovered what the Writing Center phone sounds like, which was all kinds of odd. I felt a bit like a secretary when I answered it. Classes were fine. I think I ended up cramping my hand like mad in CJ because he doesn't stick on notes like he ought. Flowing policy c/x style for fifty minutes straight is enough to disable anyone, I would think. I took my laptop back to school with me after the book drop between CJ and Dickens and managed to write some more. It's not a great story; in fact, it's awful, but I like writing it anyway, and maybe I'll even finish it, and be able to say that I finished a piece. Dickens was fun. I got to work with Wade, who's pretty cute. Not that I told him or anything - that would just be weird. Marty and I had lunch with each other, and I talked to him as prep for the grand nanowrimo novel I'm planning. He was surprisingly nice about it, and had some great ideas for his character. This will be interesting, to say the least. Now the male characters outnumber the female characters, but the female characters will still be significant, and that's what counts. Work was all good. I managed to tutor a couple of girls. The first was so quiet, and I was afraid that she hated me or something. The second student was much more outgoing an upbeat, and is also an English major, and we connected pretty well. I have also discovered that Dr. Aton's pet peeve is sentence fragments. It's not a sin I've committed in a paper in a long time, but still, it was good to know. Philosophy club was on this afternoon.
Bloodbath.
There was one kid in there who was utterly obnoxious and kept trying to get us to bend the debate to his rules, some of which were naive, some of which were assumptive and presumptive. I sat with Lee and his female friends. Poor Rochelle, whom I like more and more each time I talk to her, seemed a bit overwhelmed in the chaos. Sometimes we all talked over each other, and other times we were perfectly courteous. Go figure. Some guy named AJ came by and really rattled cages. I sort of liked him, because he was pleasant about it the entire time. I wasn't so sure I was glad to see that the only other English major in the room - a boy - was as milktoast and unaggressive as people assume all English majors are. The poli sci students - you can pick them out of a crowd all right. The girls were the worst. Sometimes I just sat back and watched the blood spill. Dude.
Latin wasn't on, because Alex seemed quite despondent, and Dr. Harrison wasn't there, and that was that.
So now I'm home an hour early.
House rocked last night.
All I have to do is read and the LSAT's.
Yay!
Brad is very proud of me right.
