Day 351: Up all night

Friday night was spent mostly in the pursuit of gaming. I didn't get much done in the way of homework, except for some more mythology, since I didn't actually get called out on Friday in class. Go me. We had pizza and soda. Ericka and Megan went to the dollar store to pick up some Halloween decorations in celebration of fall. Marty and Alison came over first, and we got started on the strangeness that is Vampire, the Requiem (after having spent several years becoming accustomed to the Masquerade system). The character I'm playing is sort of a throwback to Sadako of D&D Oriental 3.5 bitchy samurai fame, but also a sort of new take on things. In the past, all my characters have beein perfectly accepting of being a vampire. I thought I'd add an extra dimension of difficulty in the mix. And then Ericka had to ressurect Bronah, who I loved even when I was playing Fiona, and well, I couldn't really resist another martial arts fiend, could I? Alison is a fantastic gamer. People forget that sometimes it's harder to play a timid character than to play an outgoing, physically aggressive character (which is why I played a child vampire once, because for all his necromantic morbidness he was still a child and still scared). Marty did well this time. I think, apart from Ericka's experimental campaign this summer, I've never seen him play a non-berserker before. He was a bit quiet and withdrawn while he sorted this out, I think, but a good gamer nonetheless. This was new, and he stuck to it. Chris was a great Malkavian. Just so bloody amusing in his stubbornness about being a mortal paramedic. And Logan, who's usually really quiet at work, really opens up as a gamer. In fact, he was rather like Panda, with the jokes and tangents and whatnot. He and Marty played off of each other too well. After everyone else left it was just me, Chris, and Logan talked and being geeks. We talked till Del got home, at which point both of us went to bed.
Since my sleep schedule was utterly frelled, yesterday was something of a loss, but I at least got my Oliver Twist paper done. All my academic papers are so bloody boring. I'm so dedicated to winning my argument that my personality goes out the window.
Schuldich is laughing at me again.
I stayed up and talked to Ericka and Chris a bit while they were at work. And then went to bed.
So everything I wanted to get done yesterday I have to get done today. I did the first part of my Latin homework already, and decided to consider this a study break. I shall now endeavor to get my Latin done, read some Old Curiosity Shop, study for the LSATs, and perhaps write some letters.
Perhaps.
Brad is a bit annoyed with me as well.
