These past week really wasn't a bad one. Had a couple of long days at court, and also a really long drive one day after court, and some rough cases come my way (trying to keep a straight face while a seven-year-old tells me how he used to see his dad punch his mom). But I also had some really chill days in there, and for that I am grateful.

Some cool things happened this week, like me and [personal profile] sherlockian_syn making it to season 2 of SGA (hello, Ronon and Lorne), and also staying up stupid late to watch X Japan at Coachella, and me, [personal profile] sherlockian_syn and [personal profile] brumeier recording pod fics for each other kinda randomly. I had never heard [personal profile] brumeier's voice before, and being able to hear it was super cool. I learned a new skill in bobbin lace, and I finished another baby sweater. Cody's brother and his girlfriend and my brother-in-law came to hang out and eat pizza and watch the fights, which was fun. Naomi and I also hung out the night Cody was at scout camp so we could watch more SGU, which I am loving more and more. I know so many SG-1 and SGA fans hate it, but if you take it for what it is, it's really well-done; great cast and amazing performances. Don't get me wrong, it has its issues, and some of its female characters are a serious step back after the brilliant badassery that is Sam Carter, Elizabeth Weir, and Teyla Emmagan, but I am liking it all the same.

Also I hit a new level of K-pop fangirl crazy. But it was a good kind of crazy, the kind that spawns fic. Also I hit some music nostalgia, which was pretty fun. When I was a kid one of my favorite bands was a nordic one called Michael Learns to Rock, and I was pretty stoked to be able to find some of their music again. Also I finally buckled down and watched the BSB documentary that's been on my list for a while, and it was really good. Sobering. Eye-opening. And also happy-making.

I also went to the doctor and got some good news - in pretty decent health, given my recent discoveries of the issues that run in my bio family - and also some useful direction for other aspects of my health, ones I hadn't considered before, so that was pretty awesome.

Our dishwasher died on Monday though (this after getting the washer replaced on Saturday) but luckily we had time to pick up a new (used) one, so that was nice. Still gotta get the thing working. Because Cody's a PhD-level chemical analyst, he's great at doing dishes by hand (need super-clean glassware for experiments), but the majority of dishwashing in general falls to me, and I'd rather just have a dishwasher, so...

Anyway. Goal check-in:

Spirituality! Not great in a lot of ways but also better in a lot of ways. Yay!

Fitness! Didn't eat that healthy this week, and also was totally lame at working out. Part of that was due to weather. I was planning on gearing up and walking the dogs again, but when there's snow and ice on the sidewalks, with how walking my dogs goes, that's a bit of a death wish for me. Also I stayed up SUPER late to watch X Japan, and while that was totally worth it, my sleep schedule is now pretty kerfuffled. I will do better next week!

Writing! I am making progress on an old story I had not touched in literally months, so that was good. Being able to get back into the groove always feels good. I need to make progress on original fic, but...progress is progress!

Work! I finally studied again. Woohoo! It was good to study again. The first chapter I read was pretty much stuff I know, which actually made me feel good. Like...hey. I do know my job. I know what I'm doing. Quality control reviews are always stressful, and no less than four of my cases got pulled, including one I've been on for really less than a month. Also, everyone has been asking me when I was going to schedule my exam. This week I finally got an email that I can schedule my exam. Up to this point, the fact that I hadn't scheduled my exam was moot, because it wasn't possible to do so, LOL.

I am excited to be starting dance up again. That'll be really fun.

Hoping this week goes better. It can be done!
