Seriously. This is my life.
Last weekend was good. Conference with husband's family. Tasty food from Great Aunt Eloise. Good eating out. Hanging out with Aaron. Shenanigans with dogs escaping from yards. Car was acting up, so we sent it to Cody's mechanic uncle to get it fixed, and Cody's dad lent us (me) his construction/serial killer van.
Monday was wall-to-wall court. Found a dance store down by the courthouse at which to pick up dance supplies. Got some little sole shoes that protect the balls of my feet because a whole lot of the choreography for the hafla at the end of the month is on releve. Tuesday and Wednesday were meetings, so I was in and out of the office and all over the place. Being out of the office and then not having much more than half an hour in the office between meetings makes it hard to get anything done that isn't meetings. Some cases are going good. A couple of cases blew up on me and now we have emergency meetings to call and make it to so I can get things sorted.
My tunisian crochet hooks arrived in the mail, as did some yarn from my mom so I can make her an afghan for the new couch in her room. I made one pair of baby sneaker and plan on making several more pairs for the girls in the office since our logo is a pair of child's sneakers. I am super excited about this tunisian crochet thing and am kinda hoping it will stave off my insistent desire to learn bobbin lace, which is expensive and complicated and the nearest lessons are up in Salt Lake City.
Today and tomorrow I have training up in Park City. Driving up there and back in one day is tiring. Ran into a lawyer who was a kid I knew in high school. Didn't realize the company was paying for rooms at the hotel, so I just could have stayed at the hotel instead of making crazy drives. Learned a lot, but it was kind of overwhelming. Came home exhausted. Despite being tired, I am getting things written for my game and novel and other random stories, and all in all my life is pretty good. Going to RP with the college gang this weekend.
I picke up some new songs for my playlist thanks to the random mix CDs Cody's dad keeps in his van, which means I have fun music now. Also, I started listening to Librivox and Shakespearean plays on my iPod, as well as a dramatization of Great Expectations. It's fun on long drives. And when I am painting my nails.
