So, at the end of last week's entry I hoped I'd be productive. I was not as productive as I'd have liked, but I was fairly productive all the same. I ended up being super cranky one day and not getting anything done at all, and then I lost a day. Mostly because I made a meal calendar but ended up not cooking on Sunday, so I was behind one day on my meal calendar all week, which messed me up in my other journal - why, yes, I do have another journal, but there are in fact some parts of my life I don't feel like sharing with the internet - and so I woke up on Friday pretty sure it was Thursday. My one coworker Timothy is off on vacation this week, so I've been filling in for him, which basically means taking contract requests - drafting contracts on request - and putting out research fires. The most frustrating part of at least half of the questions I get is that they have all already been answered, and the answers have been posted online in brightly-colored tables for every other employee - and every person with internet access, for that matter - to see. Cory Beth and I despaired of how to get the word out to employees and clients both that these resources are out there and they should consult those resources before asking us about something.

I got some work on my novel done. These days I have a better sense of when I'm getting off track and when I'm rambling stupidly and I can usually work my way back on track, but the rewrites on this novel are going to be brutal. Seeing as how I didn't even manage rewrites very well on the last novel and I'm not used to doing major rewrites on fanfic (which always seems to flow so much better for me, and I need to figure out how to do that in my original writing), I think I'm just going to have to accept the fact that rewrites are going to be horrible for me for a while till I figure out how to transfer my writing mojo to original fiction. (I had it when I was a kid. How sad is that?)

I danced again this weekend. Another fun show. Some amazing dancers, including a few boys, one of whom was a seriously lovely dancer. Probably the best parts of my weekend were with my people, though. Cody took me out to dinner at a lovely Indian restaurant, where we had amazing food and good conversation. It's a great restaurant - the service is amazing and the food is delicious, and it's worth every penny. I also went shopping with my girls to pick out a dress for BenTen's wedding, so now I have me a genuine Bettie Page dress, complete with crinoline underskirt. I haven't had one of those since I was a kid. (My underskirt is neon green, and no one ever knows.) I also hung out with BenTen, Sei, Kym, and Del and of course BenTen's fiancé Kitty at their place painting centerpieces for their wedding. Since they're getting married on Halloween, the centerpieces are Halloween decorations. It's been so long since I've done tole painting. My mom did it all the time when I was a kid, and she was really cool about letting us kids paint with her. When we went up to Baguio on term breaks we'd hit up the Ifugao wood carver and buy things to paint, and it was great bonding time with my mom. Before my belly dance show Kitty was kind enough to do my stage makeup for me since he did stage makeup in college, and then we danced.

Today we took Ivy for a hike up the mountains (after Cody cooked a late lunch of blueberry pancakes, eggs, and bacon) and now we are going to have Chinese stir fry, honey pork, and noodles for dinner. It's going to be awesome.

Here's to me being more productive this week :)
