End at Gamestop. Because that's how awesome my lady friends are.

So I did nothing useful on Saturday (despite intending to do some stitchery, some bar application stuff, and other useful things) except clean. Watching Robin Hood does not count as doing something useful, but Jonas Armstrong, you're growing on me (unfortunately, you have a long way to go before you can defeat Colin Morgan). I went shopping with the ladies (Angela and Jenny from Oregon) out at Village Point. It was all Jenny's idea, and she had looked online to see which shops were having sales.

And it took us two hours to shop. We went through about eight shops though. See, Jenny's philosophy is that every shop has a look, and chances are if the first few things you try on in a shop don't look good on you, chances are nothing in the shop will look good on you. It's been a while since I've been to swanky upscale boutiques, so the politeness of the shop clerks was surprising and a little unnerving. Of course, I was dressed in scruffy jeans and an oversized hoodie that reads "I think therefore I am single" (yay for grad girl bitterness!), and I'm pretty sure the ladies in the shop were suspicious of us.

Once we told them we were law students looking for appropriate work clothing, however, they warmed up to us right quick, and the next thing I knew, they were playing Law!Barbie with Nagi. That sort of attention frightens me. The one lady helping us at one shop was the widow of a criminal litigator, so she was very proud of us for going out to become lawyers. The best thing about shopping with Angela and Jenny, of course, is that they're efficient and honest. If something didn't look good, I trusted them, and if something did look good, I trusted them. Between the eight shops I got three good cardigans (with mix and match capabilities), two blouses (with real sleeves - how is one supposed to shoot her cuffs if all she has is blouses with those stupid three-quarter sleeves that get all bunched up at the elbow when she pulls on a jacket?), and two pairs of slacks (which, of course, need hemming). Poor Jenny didn't find anything; in pretty much every store we went into there was nothing in her size, or if it was in her size it looked terrible on her.

(All three of us are conundrum of sizes. When it comes to trousers, I am petite short size sixish, since each store has its own size system. Grrrr. And guys wonder why girls take forever to shop - we always have to recalibrate sizes in every shop. When it comes to tops, however, I am not petite and I'm about size eightish. Even after all these years, I still have massive shoulders from swimming the butterfly. Jenny has a long torso but not very long legs, given her height. And Angela - cannot wear button down shirts. Ever.)

To cheer ourselves up we went to Cheeseburger in Paradise (or some similar name) at Jenny's recommendation. She informed us that the place has the best friends and milkshakes in the world. While we were waiting for our table, what did we do? We went to the Game Stop. Where I picked up some cheap cheap used video games that I've been wanting for a while (including The World Ends With You; thanks to Sei and Curry for the game rec). We all had a go at the Beatles Rock Band demo and laughed about how we'd been all girly and clothes shopping like mad...and ended our spree at the Game Stop.

We got a table in good time, and the food was absolutely delicious. We talked law school, life, and boys (and joked that Jenny should try to get Jake to ask her to the upcoming singles dance). I ended up skipping D&D altogether to hang with the girls, and I'm surprisingly okay with it. I needed the clothes (client meeting tomorrow, hearing Tuesday) and I had fun bonding with the ladies. Next weekend I plan on getting an oil change, taking some stuff to Angela's friend Maria to get hemmed, and then Jenny and I are going to go through my jewelry and see what sorts of jewelry will dress up an outfit so I can be court-appropriate in a jiffy.

Today I napped too long and watched too much Robin Hood again (bad Nagi), but I got visiting teaching done for the month. Korina and I caught Cassi right after church, and then we drove out to Madison's grandparents' place. She wasn't home as she'd been called into work unexpectedly, but (after we knocked on the neighbor's door by mistake) her grandfather let us in, talked to us, and we gave him the message. He was gruff and a little blunt, but I liked him, and we learned from him, which made me happy.

I got letters written and talked to Justin for the first time in a while. As it turns out, he went climbing with Russ recently, and Russ is married...with a kid on the way! My friend Sylvia from law school has a kid on the way too (due around the bar actually, poor girl) so I need to get to making some baby booties and blankets and things. I can get some neutral colored yarn and just...go to town. Yay. I can make blankets right quick these days.

Although I should also be working on a wedding veil.

Today at church I girl-schemed and made every attempt to sit next to Stephen, but sorta failed, and ended up sitting next to Mike instead. We shared scriptures (I let someone else borrow mine) and he smiled at me, and...ugh. I've been single for so long that every now and again I have a pathetic burst of desperateness, and any guy who's just nice to me seems like a decent option all of a sudden. I figure I will tell Stephen's roommate that I like Stephen, but who knows how it'll end up, and you know what? Who cares. Of course, the Snow Ball of all evil was announced today. Stephen recommended that the boys get dates more than three days in advance of the dance.

If it were girls' choice, we'd already have dates. Seriously. Slow much, boys?

But...I should be in bed.

Really.

Work tomorrow. Real lawyer-ness. Wish me luck.
