Time and fate and all that - it seems like they're out to get me.

I got useful things done on Saturday - I watched a movie for Juvie Law called La Haine. It was interesting and artistic and not nearly as horrifyingly violent as it could have been. It also made me wish I'd finished out a decent run of French and had some degree of real fluency in it. The beginning and the end were...whoa. I wrote my three-hundred words about the movie and then attempted to clean and read cases, but when push came to shove I didn't get anything useful done anyway.

I spent most of the day spazzing because I couldn't find the newest episode of Merlin online for consumption. Usually it's on the net around five p.m., but for the life of me I couldn't find it, and Angela was coming over to eat dinner and watch it with me. I will totally confess to having watched the Bradley James + Colin Morgan road trip and been genuinely entertained, but by the time Angela arrived, I still couldn't find it. I let her in and showed her some goofy videos and then got the food sorted, and then - and then I pressed the refresh button and there the link was! Like magic! Clearly Angela's presence is magic that way.

We had the last of the chicken stew and then we watched Merlin, which was...adorable. Bradley James might be a pretty face, but he is also a fantastic actor. He can do hardcore drama, and he can do adorable love-struck fool. I enjoyed every moment of that episode, especially since it looks like the last three episodes of the season will be high drama. It reminds me of anime conventions - a goofy episode followed by a run of drama, death, and tearjerkers. Also, Gwen grabbing Arthur and kissing him? For the win. When she did it, Angela called out, "You go girl!"

That's the kind of people we are.

Sunday was a good day. I was a good girl, for the most part. Went to church. Got to sit next to Dental Student Dave all through Sunday School and then fifth Sunday combined. Bishop Dallon taught, and he's always funny and heartwarming and profound, and it made me miss having him as a teacher at school. After church, Korina and I went to visit Cassi and make sure she was okay. The lesson was short and she looked miserable, but I think it was a good thing we stopped by anyway. Afterwards I did some indexing (whee!) and then went to judge the high school mock trial team for Professor/Dean Borchers.

The trial was...interesting. They were good kids, actually. They had their hearsay almost completely down, and I really dug it. I overruled some objections I'd have ordinarily sustained just from the fear in their eyes, as if my sustaining would have really bollocksed up their cases. It was fun to watch, nonetheless. I was the ruling judge and Vanessa was the jury.

When I got home I talked to Mom, which was good times (although the forecast for Christmas may mean more melodrama). I wrote Christmas cards and hope to have them done by the end of the week. I also wrote some letters and then ended up staying up later than I ought, watching some Improv Everywhere videos I hadn't seen before.

Twice this morning, while I was watching Catherine Tate hilariousness (Have you heard about our John? He's a gay man now), Professor Melilli came to visit me. Twice. To talk to me about things we had already talked about.

Almost like he misses hanging out with the team.

He made me smile, though.

And now I need to do some real homework.

Seriously.
