It's official. I'm addicted to Merlin. In a pretty terrible day.

I did really nothing useful all day Saturday except take a nap and then go to practice. Which was...well. We were the best we've been yet. Professor Melilli really only had good things to say to us. He told me that, for the first time, during closing I looked like a lawyer and not a law student pretending to be a lawyer. Possibly the nicest law-related thing that's been said to me through the entirety of my law school career.

After practice - which ran from four to eight - Jenny, Angela, and I attempted to coordinate some sort of movie get-together, but none of us really had our heart in it, so Angela came to my place and we watched a couple of episodes of Merlin (interspersed with goofy behind-the-scenes videos so videos could load). Every time I think Merlin is as good as it's going to get, it gets better the next week. Man - I'm gonna go a little nuts without being able to see it this weekend, but I will call it a reward for when I get home. Arthur will finally find out about how he was born. I will hit something if there are smoochies with Morgause, though, because really, being a prince does not give a man license to be a manslut.

Sunday was church. First time in a long time. Korina spoke, and we rehearsed how to pronounce random words on the way there. I sat next to Dave during sacrament meeting. I hoped it wasn't too stalkerish - we've sat together before, and I was really pretty much intending to sit with Ashley and happened to sit on the other side of his scriptures. Now, Dave doesn't have the same personal space issues I have, so if he happened to sit close enough that our shoulders were touching, well, that was no big deal, right? After church I went home and was lazy and did nothing until I talked to my mom on the phone.

Seriously. I need to write letters. I'm a horrible human being. I am so, so lazy, even if trial team has more or less consumed my thoughts entirely.

Practice on Monday went well - I did pretty good on cross and I'm generally feeling better about cross, which makes me happy, and the judge - a former student and trial team member - pretty much loved us, so that was good. I got useful things done, like the write-up to get into street law, and turned in the last of my lottery cards to hopefully get the classes I want so I can graduate properly. I went to FHE but didn't participate nearly as much. I'm surprised, and maybe I shouldn't be, but a couple of the girls from Ladies Night White Wolf have come up to me to ask if we will keep gaming, so hey, maybe everything will work out after all. Ericka was a doll and bought me the Book of Nod, so I'll probably read it and start building more campaign-ness around it. I haven't seen a couple of our players in a while, though, but if all I have is one of each - one werewolf, one mage, one vampire - the campaign should work out.

Today practice went pretty well. Melilli was our witness, which frightened me a bit, but it was fun to see him play-acting how each of us should be witnesses. Professor Mangrum will be our last practice judge tomorrow. Molly, one of the girls on the other team that's already been, came to watch and offer advice and encouragement, which is nice, since I didn't really get along much with her in witness exam and she seems like a nice person, so I probably just needed to get to know her better. Professor Kelly was our judge and was very surprised by me. Apparently I was blah and matter-of-fact all through the case (I try to be sympathetic during direct, but I guess I failed) and then totally came alive during closing, and he thought it was deliberate and awesome and really made people pay attention. Huhn. Not sure I'm going to go along with that, honestly, as a strategy, but still.

I got useful things done, like bills paid and paperwork sorted for trial, and tonight some of us are going to see the Michael Jackson movie. Sure, I was of the age where mostly we heard about the scandals, but I remember his music videos and watching him dance and dancing around to his music in my sister's room in the middle of the night, so yeah, I'd like to see him one last time, as it were.

Man. Trial team. Here it comes.

Melilli's right, though. This series of trials is a bunch of fake trials, the least important trials of my entire litigation career. Here's to having fun.
