Yet another obscure song by the brothers Moffatt (in a most obscure formation, what with there only being three; they usually run in ones, twos, and fours). But it works.

The last few days have been insane. Friday was a pretty good day in that I went to trial practice, and ninjitsu, and had lots of fun at ninjitsu, and did laundry, and watched the Dollhouse. I am two episodes behind on Castle and one episode behind on Drop Dead Diva, but I will catch up in due time, I am sure of it. TV is pretty much low on my totem pole unless it involves pretty dark-haired wizard boys and their blond, shining-armor-clad sidekicks.

I think I got a good four hours of sleep Friday night. Saturday at Melilli's house was objection training. I did well on objections only because I got to watch everyone else go through objections before I did, and for all that I hate being punished, I've learned how to learn from others' mistakes. Then I went to WalMart and sat around for nigh on two hours learning my closing (which has been amended since then and keeps messing me up) and waiting for an oil change. Went home and napped/worked/slept something. Went to Stake Conference in the evening. Failed to sleep Saturday night and got maybe three hours.

I've been riding with Ashley (not dental student Ashley from Cedar City) and Korina. We rode together on Sunday and I started recycling the papers I've been accumulating from trial team. It's pretty scary work, you know? PT Student Dave came to say hi and admired the paper ball I made, so I made a smaller, less complicated paper ball for his nephews. He actually called me on the way home just to say thanks for helping entertain his nephews. I'd totally marry that kid.

I spent the rest of Sunday fretting about my closing, not writing letters, and mostly being a terrible fangirl. I think I got about four hours of sleep - crashed at eleven, woke up at half three on Monday to learn my closing.

Was a zombie nutcase all day Monday but didn't have to do my closing, which was fine by me. Went to classes and learned interesting things. Made it home in decent time on Monday to bang on the drums and also prep for FHE. It was cold and wet, but Ashley and Korina and I rode together (Korina slipped me a fiver for gas, which was sweet of her) and we talked a little afterward. Military dude Peter talks to me a lot, and I cannot tell if he is flirting with me or we are like I am with Will M., where everything is snarky and a little cruel and meant entirely in jest. After FHE I went home and tried to do homework and failed (although I am read far, far ahead in both juvie law and M&D for this week), and ended up staying up egregiously late anyway. (Colin Morgan, why do you have to have an adorable Irish accent?)

Went to school this morning and stumbled my way through a trial. For the first time ever, my brain feels like it's genuinely maxed out. Like I cannot cram another thing into it. It looks my motion in limine is forever doomed to fail, and I have seriously been considering going to ask someone like Mangrum for help, since he's an evidence guru. I just want a fair shot at it during the competition. Our strategy is pretty conservative, but so far we're doing pretty good. I stuck by a ruling today and managed to throw opposing counsel, which is fun, but...my closing continues to escape me. No matter how many times I say it (and I totally did it four times today) it comes out wrong, and I trip up, and...ugh. It's just way too long. I ended up passing out on the sofa after Institute, and then I woke up in time to get to M&D. Learned how to not get killed at an office if I deal with violent clients on a regular basis. Afterwards I went to make sure Angela was okay - the 2Ls have their big moot court brief coming up on them, and they're all freaking out. I actually dispensed hugs in an effort to help people stay sane (but only Jenny got a hug, because she doesn't cry easily, and she looked kinda ready to bawl). Mid-sentence while I was talking to Angela, my accent totally dropped. And proceeded to get worse and worse while Angela giggled more and more, so I brought myself home. Played some drums.

And was finally useful. I emptied my dishwasher and wrote the weekly obligatory batch of letters. Unfortunately, people who sent me letters are still waiting for replies, but I'll try to get all the necessary replies out by the end of the week. Still, I got letters written and useful things done, which makes me feel pretty good about myself.

Also, I went to hang out with Amber. Hanging out with Amber is FTW. She made me dinner (spaghetti and salad and garlic bread) and then we watched House and ate chocolate cake. And we talked. Hanging out with Amber is always awesome and I don't spend enough time with her. Also, she has never been to my place. In all the years we've been friends (and it's weird, but we've been friends for years now), she's never been here. It's a little surreal.

On a totally non-sequitur note, last Tuesday was Red Mass. Made friends with a 1L, didn't get hugged by Will. Had fun. And our new archbishop is named, I kid you not, George Lucas.

Just sayin'.

After a crazy Merlin purge, I think I'm human again.
