I sort of never want to think again. (Although the song bearing the title "Never Think" is hardly about the same thing.)

Sunday was a good day - fast Sunday, so I could sleep in. Got some good food at break the fast and put in some decent conversation with Dave the dental student and John the Horticulture student so when my mother asks I can at least say I talked to them. But no, I didn't give them my phone numbers, and no, they haven't called me, and no, I honestly don't care.

Monday was...long. I was up ridiculously late on Sunday talking to Daniel and Logan as well as being generally kept awake by a storm of all suck. I like to imagine that whatever storms beat down on Utah make their way here, and stormy weather gives me headaches. I put in a good ten hours of work on Monday, which included a late work meeting, and then today I put in another nine hours, but still had time to go belly dancing and practice some drums. My wrists are full of lame, by the way. Whatever endurance I had in middle school is all gone. I can't even keep the pace in "Come Out and Play" because it's machine-gun fast and my wrist just gives up halfway through. And the double hands on the hi-hat for "Gone Away" is also out to get me. Which basically means that Ron Welty is out to get me, but Dave Grohl and Bob Moffatt continue to be nice fellows (I started learning "Just Another Phase" today).

I had fun at belly dancing. It's always fun belly dancing. I'm also having an awesome good time writing for M&M this week. I put up a soundtrack challenge because, for one of the pieces I wrote for the GW_500, someone left a comment and offered a soundtrack song and, well, it worked. Often when I write I pick a song for a certain scene and use it over and over again, but the challenge this week is to use a song like a soundtrack for a movie, and what works as a writing soundtrack isn't always a reading soundtrack. I was really hoping to use the remix of Timesbold's "Watercolor", but there was nothing I could write that would do that piece justice. I had a slew of songs lined up at the beginning of the week, but I think I'm going to have to re-think most of them, but then listening to other songs randomly has given me some ideas, so I'm pretty jazzed.

Summer is cold and wet right now, and I'm missing the sunshine greatly.

Also, this new version of Safari, while it looks spiffy and cool, is freaking me out for now. We'll see how I adjust to it. I'm sure in a few months I'm not going to know how I managed without it.

I should sleep. Long and full of pleasant dreams.
