Okay, so Wednesday was pretty awesome. I worked all day and then went to hang out with Amber, which is what made it awesome. We talked and watched "American Outlaws". Between Amber's cheerful enthusiasm for the movie and a lot of gratuitously shirtless Colin Farrell, I was won over, and I enjoyed my evening. Amber usually makes my days awesome.

Thursday was good. I had a nice morning jaunt down to the courthouse to pick up a BoE, which I lugged back to school and then spent pretty much most of the day reading. I also read some other stuff and talked to whoever would come visit (Jake has started putting in short appearances at the corner because we razz him so much about hanging out with the married guys). Dean Dallon also comes by to visit sometimes. Angela and I noted that it was lovely outside, so we vowed to bring a blanket for the next day to study on the grass. Nate called to see if I'd like to go to the temple with him (no, no, not like that) but as it turned out there was a misunderstanding as to who could do what where at the temple, so I ended up declining and went to help clean at the church instead. While in the car I rediscovered by Jpop Remade CD and ended up freaking out everyone on the road by singing along to Scars, You Gonna Feel by H.A.V., a whole lot of music from Gravitation and Weiß Kreuz, and then singing my little heart out to X Japan on the way home. For almost the entire night it was just me and Tyler. Matt the dental student showed up a little later, but it was just me and Tyler for a long time. I cleaned the bathroom, because I always do, and I cleaned the glass, and I helped vacuum the chapel. Sang a whole lot. Got done around ten and went home, managed to talk to Daniel on the phone as well as my mom.

Today - today was an absolutely fabulous day. It didn't start out so fabulous, as I awoke to my neighbor and her boyfriend at half seven in the morning. My response was, well, Misery. The song, not the emotion, because it has a fantastic military march roll on the snare for the first eight bars of the song. And so my neighbor and her boyfriend knocked it off, which was nice. I went to school and until Angela got done with class. I'd remembered our vow, and I was armed with a blanket, so we went out to laze in the sun all day, and by laze I mean do homework and work. I got some preliminary business done on my client intake file as well as some reading. Kent, Jason, Will N., and Amy all came by to say hello. Before we headed outside, Dean Dallon said hello and gave us some donuts - apparently he'd bought donuts for his whole class. (Amy says he loves donuts and eats them whenever possible, so we cannot figure out why he is as thin as he is.)

Once we both needed to do work on our laptops, Angela and I retreated indoors until our "shift" ended. We made plans with Dan and Amber (and possibly Dan's roommate) to go to the Italian festival downtown. I came home and practiced on the drums for a spell before it was time to go. We car-pooled together and parked and walked to the place. It was a miniature carnival with a live band and food. We admired the carnival games and rides and then went to get food from the Italian booths (and admired the statue of Santa Lucia, for whom the festival supposedly was for). We got done eating and went to get dessert (whee! for gelato) and then we noticed the live band was rocking. There was also an odd couple dancing to the band - an older woman dressed in a white shirt and jeans, very country, and a suspiciously younger man, also in a white shirt and jeans, but...he looked like he'd been ripped out of the nineties. His jeans were straight-legged and stonewashed, and his hair, and his baseball cap...the chain on his wallet. Hell. We laughed a lot. I loved that band - it's sad, because I cannot even remember their name, but they were full of awesome. Covered a range of bands, from Cake to Smash Mouth to AAR to Bowling for Soup and did it all well. Their keyboard/guitar player was FTW, as was their drummer. I felt like dancing, so I gave my purse, egged Dan into dancing with me, and there we went. Dan's a good dancer, and we had fun. Amber joined us soon after, and Angela roamed while we danced through the entire first set. After we danced, we split up and went home. I belly-danced in my apartment for a bit, then figured I ought to get my writing done and head for bed - I have chores to do, plus I'm going out with the sister missionaries tomorrow.

So far so good, me and my summer.

Rock on.
