This is my first real Tornado experience in Omaha. I've heard the sirens go off before, but this is new. And I'm terrified. The sirens went off when I got into the garage, but were silent when I made it up to my apartment. I turned on the news and it said there was a tornado warning, so I grabbed my 72 hour food kit and hid in the bathroom in the shower, like I'd been told by others. I called Marty to cheer myself up, had some food cooking in the oven (chicken and mushroom pie, Fray Bentos tinned because I'm a bachelor like that) and then the news said the tornado warning for Omaha was lifted, which was good. So I ate food. And talked to Mom to tell her I was alive in case she heard about tornados in the news or something. We talked about life and school and I ate food. And then I sat down on the sofa to boot up my laptop and make sure cyberspace was getting on without me.

And then I looked out the window. The sky was scary scary dark for a very long time, and it looked like night falling far too soon for this time of year. And now - now the sky is terrifying. The sky is so dark and grey that it's opaque, maybe that wall cloud the news talked about. But the highrises and skyscrapers in the city - they're lit up like it's noon day. The wind was beating at my window like crazy, and rain too, but now it's all stopped. Is it the eye of the storm or is it all gone? Seeing night sky and a noon-day world is very, very disturbing. I wonder if this sort of wrongness is what I'll see when the end of the world comes.

But, for now, I am alive.

Love you all.

I looked outside, and the sky is turning black. And the buildings are brighter than ever.
