Time flies when a little Nagi is having lots of fun, and lots of fun did Nagi have. Friday night was pretty darn cool - instead of going swing dancing (I really didn't feel like it) Dan and I went to Angela's place and helped her set up her giant 42" TV. She gave us some of her awesome beef stew, and then we made an MST3K mission of the film The Covenant, and just generally sat around shooting the breeze. I ended up being awake crazy late and talking to Daniel on the boys online.

Saturday was full of goofing off and not doing nearly enough homework. I ran some errands, totally skipped Jessie's bridal shower, and then went to Chinese New Year with Xiao Qian. It was out at some church south of Dodge on 108th and there was Chinese food (Xiao Qian was worried I didn't know how to use chopsticks), the lion dance, a tai chi fan dance, traditional Tibetan dancing, traditional Mongolian dancing, some Italian opera (who knew the Chinese could pull it off?), traditional Chinese opera, and good times all around. I was pretty beat after that and was in bed by eleven.

Sunday I drove Will to church. He lives pretty much around the corner from me. While we were driving, he asked me if I like to sit so close to the steering wheel, at which point I informed him that if I did not sit so close I would not be able to reach the pedals or drive. At which point he looked me up and down and then said, rather sheepishly, "Oh." It was good times. After church I helped Xiao Qian put together one of those O'Sullivan we-don't-need-men desks. She'd never done it before and she didn't have any tools either. Dad gave me his old power screwdriver over Christmas break (he got a new one for Christmas) so I showed Xiao Qian how we pretend-make furniture. Afterwards I went to dinner at Amber's place, which was awesome. Dan, Lindsey, Matt the dental student, Jessica the pharmacy student, her boyfriend Will (not the one I drove to church), and Emily the PT were there. Amber made awesome food - chicken and green beans and black forest cake - and we talked. We told dumb stories, like about our first kisses - those stories are always entertaining - and had lots of fun.

Yesterday was a pretty busy day. I managed to read before classes 40 pages of BA which, let's face it, shouldn't be possible, but after school I got all my homework done too. I went on a team-up with the sister missionaries, which I haven't done in a while. It was a lot of fun, plus I got to know the new sisters better. It was crazy windy out, and rainy, the sort of weather horror movies are made of, but the guy - Adam - was pretty cool. We all went to FHE where we played Jessi's version of Battle of the Sexes (the girls totally won) and then I went home. I talked to Mom and Dad called me from China to wish me an early Happy Birthday, which was very sweet, and I watched a whole lot of Criminal Minds. I finished the white lacy underskirt for the Marie Antoinette barbie dress of doom and have started on the giant over dress.

Seriously - the weirdest shopping list in the world ever was from Saturday. At Wal-Mart I bought a wedding card, a gift bag, a wedding veil (I plan on using the fabric for some of my projects - like I need a wedding veil for a wedding), volleyball knee pads, a barbie (I got a brunette one because this project is for Ericka and we are proud non-blondes), and some comet powder to clean the shower. The girl at the check-out stand was nuts. Overall, I'm feeling pretty good.

Oh, and Ryan? I'm cured. Just saying.

Gundam Wing

Seriously. Don't they look like a boyband?
